Front fork travel

Could anyone tell me, if the front fork travel goes completely down the inner tube? I mean so far, that you don't see the polished inner tube anymore. It's beacause i have 18mm (0,7 in.) travel left to the black bottom part of the fork, but im not shure if it can go fully down. If the 120mm fork travel ends f.ex.10mm bevore the black part, i'm a bit near to the end of travel. Thanks!

Typically you will never compress a fork to the point there there is no more "shinny" part showing. The internals of the fork will bottom out before that happens. Also the guys who put zip ties on there tubes to see if they need to stiffen up the compression would be blowing out for seals if it could compress all the way. The 09 does go down further than any forks I have see before, but there is still a 1/4 inch showing.

1/4 inch, was hoping for such a clear answer. Thanx Kyle! :thumbup I am such a zip tie guy (?) and thats the reason i know that there are 0,7 inch 'shinny' inner tube left. I know that it never touches the dust seal, but it is possible there is only 1mm left or 10. So i had 18mm shinny tube left after riding - 6,3mm never used = 11,7mm (o,46 inch) fork travel left. Ok for the moment. This is with a rider weight (incl. gear) of 76 Kg. and not to aggressive riding.
