Another quick question.
I want to adjust the throttle on my R1 but just want to check a few things before I just start fiddling, as it is all electric now.
I just want to remove the huge amount of freeplay between throttle off and throttle being on at all.
I presume I can just adjust the cables normally by the twist grip, is that right?
Then will I need to adjust the throttle position sensor (TPS) as I have heard these need to be bang on accurate and I'm not sure if it would need it's default position (or whatever) reset etc.
any help please?

I also like to take all free play out. There is no need to adjust TPS.

Manual calls for adjustment at the cables near the grip. It should be pretty straight forward. Mine was also set up with a large amount of free play. Not sure why they have so much from the factory.

What about the free play from side to side? Mine seems to have this movement and I don't like it.

Everyone is different, but about 3mm side-to-side freeplay in the throttle tube is normal, actually recommended is 3-5mm (sect. 3-10). Any less than 3mm and I find the throttle return action can be inconsistent i.e. sticky. Side-to-side freeplay is how I judge if the thottle cables are too loose or too tight. Its up to you.
