Smog/PAIR blocking on 09 question

I had my 09's smog blocked off and the bike has been dyno tuned. Is it normal to still get some backfiring? It's definitely reduced, but it's still there...

my 07 still backfires once in a while with blocks offs and a tune - not as much as without them so probably "normal"

You mean the air popping or fuel backfire?

There is some air popping when it's decelerating. I can hear a mild sputter around 3.5 grand or so as it decelerates. It has backfired a little bit, too, though, but that is less relatively rare.

probably just the remaining fuel igniting when it hits fresh air. Ride at night and have someone follow you, and see if you are shooting blue flames. I would be willing to bet you are.

I only have the cap on in the airbox as I haven't done the full AIS removal yet. I intend to someday. Being at the GP this past weekend, I was amazed how often and much their bikes pop on decel!
