THECLAYTON 10-01-2009, 09:43 PM No 04 -06 R1's? How much?
If not, I could always pick up the 07-08 forks and put the smaller 310mm 07-08 rotors and calipers on the front of the 05, right?

You may be able to do it with just caliper spacers :dunno

That Definitely won't work as the 07-08 R1 have the longer six pot calipers.
You definitely, have to change the calipers.

They are six piston on the 07-08, but I believe the bolt holes are 100mm in lieu of the 04-06 calipers which are 108mm.
Why are the 04-06 forks $1k more than the 07-08? :dollar

Ummm... No. 6 Piston = BIGGER and Longer.
So, the Bolt Pattern is something like 140mm.

when you order brembos for the 09 (i think the 07 08 apply) you order 108mm and then use spacer brackets to bolt to the forks. the forks actually measure at 130mm. if you get ohlins forks they come in 108mm so the brembo's match right up.
Hmmmm. ohlins forks would be nice addition to my 07......

ahhh... that helps very much. Thanks for explaining! I only have 04 -06 r1's in the garage and couldn't measure anything.

dont quote me on this, ask the pros, but if yours is an 04 -06 then your stockers re carted will let you mount the 108 brembos, and if you went aftermarket you'd be in the same boat.

I know you said don't quote you ^^^ but...
I have aftermarket Ohlins R&T forks on one of my 05 R1's with 108mm Brembo's. The problem is, I want to put R&T's on my other 05 R1 and HardRacing sales the 07-08 forks cheaper than the 04-06 forks. I was going to stick with stock calipers. That being said, I was planning on just buying the 07-08 forks, and picking up some OEM 07-08 calipers/rotors.

Dark_ 12-12-2009, 10:49 AM To clear the fog...
Folks with an 04-06 looking to get the 07-08 forks, here are your options.
The forks will require the 6-piston 130mm 07-09 calipers, no questions about it.
As for the rotors you can either run 07-09 310mm rotors OR you can purchase 5mm caliper spacers (you'll need 4) to continue to run 04-06 320mm rotors.
I'm nearly positive that the fender is interchangeable between 04-08, not 09.

Hey All:
I have an 05 R1 which I've just added the 46PRXLS Ohlins Triple Clicker and it's like night and day just on the street, compared to my set-up stocker. Anyways, to match the front, I'm starting to become really interested in the newer FGRT801 from our HArdracing.com sponsor. Other than the 07-09 6 pot calipers, where can you obtain the proper and quality 10mm spacers? I want to retain my 320mm Galfer wave rotors and feel that the braking would be better than spending more $$$ on the 310mm route? Also, no issues with my GYTR CF fender? I hope that Hardracing.com can offer the spacers....Thanks! Dave

You only need 5mm spacers (half of the total difference in diameter), if HardRacing doesn't have them then here are some
