or the obvious OHLINS... but thats $$ evilR1 02-09-2003, 01:31 AM i have one- looks sleek and works great. easy to install- you do have 2 small holes to drill (beneath the stem nut), but everything needed is provided (except drill). Plus, between the 2 models, there are 4 color trim choices- champagne, red, blue, and black.
my pic is below.

KNEEDY R1 03-20-2003, 10:31 AM :iamwithst:iamwithst Magnus 03-20-2003, 10:34 AM OHLINS !!!! furiousrider 03-20-2003, 01:01 PM Ohlins sd for sure! FastMatt 03-20-2003, 01:07 PM Ohlins with Harris or Graves mounts. R1minger 03-20-2003, 01:09 PM Any of them, just get one. They all do the trick, I have an Ohlins and it is great, came with no instructions though. Had to download them off the internet AznRider 03-20-2003, 01:51 PM I have read up alot about the Ohlins with Harris mount and it has a lot of problem with the O-ring that Harris provided. Here is the link of some of the people who have problem with that 0-ring. Even the guy work for Harris say so. Check it out. I thought I interesting. http://www.fireblades.org/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=39&threadid=10460 jdyzf750 03-20-2003, 02:01 PM Originally posted by AznRider

I've heard about that too Azn. However, Mason doesn't say what year R1 he has. If its like mine (2000) the Harris + Ohlins doesn't have the O ring. Whilst I have no experience of the Matris, I do with the Harris + Ohlins ........ and it's very good. AznRider 03-20-2003, 04:31 PM Originally posted by jdyzf750

I'm riding a 2003 silver R1 (my R6 was stolen in Dec.) I just bought it about two weeks ago. Damn the rain (i'm in North Carolina) I only put 150 miles on the first day. But i'm looking forward to the drying days.
What do you think about the Scott though. Some of the Ohlins when the bike fall over it can bend or even be broken. I heard some horror stories about how it scatched the tank and all. That's why i'm looking into a Scott steering Damping.

They tell me Scotts are very good and the're lots of threads on the forum confirming that. Got to be worth a look. AznRider 03-21-2003, 11:53 AM Originally posted by jdyzf750

it seem very compact and all. That is the reason why I like it. Plus if you accidenttly knock over your bike. The damping won't be damage. jdyzf750 03-21-2003, 11:56 AM Originally posted by AznRider

Valid point
EDIT ..... come to think of it, niether will the Ohlins. Its pretty well "in-board" THE MUFFIN MAN 03-21-2003, 08:36 PM i hate the way the damper sits upright in the harris mount. Tron 03-21-2003, 08:42 PM Ohlins with Graves mount... | |
