Matris or Ohlins?

im not goin to race but, i feel that a damper would give me a better piece of mind would matris damper be a good choice? (performance, drilling, easy install?) or the obvious OHLINS... but thats $$

i have one- looks sleek and works great. easy to install- you do have 2 small holes to drill (beneath the stem nut), but everything needed is provided (except drill). Plus, between the 2 models, there are 4 color trim choices- champagne, red, blue, and black. my pic is below. http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=27626

Yep Ohlins is BIG $$$ Best deal I found www.indysuperbikes.com $409 + shipping (approx 9.00 ground) with Harris mount of your choice in colors. If there is a better deal out there I want to know as well. Post up all.....

My ohlins is coming in tomorrow! I know it's one of the most expensive, but I had to get the R1 something nice.:D

I bought my Ohlins from EMA for $400 shipped. It has the silver Harris mount. I love it! EMA is great to deal with too.

I have a Matris and had to drill. It works great but I've ridden another R1 with the Ohlins and it is awesome. Get the Ohlins

have you thought about black widow? http://www.blackwidowracing.com/ got one on my bike and is a nice piece; high quality and a little more hidden by being in front of the triple clamp (if you like that). definitely prevents the shakes too. if i had to get something else, it would be the ohlins...

What do you guys think between the Ohlins and the Scott damper.

I'd get the Ohlins over the Scotts. ;)

Ohlins with Harris or Graves mounts.

Any of them, just get one. They all do the trick, I have an Ohlins and it is great, came with no instructions though. Had to download them off the internet

I have read up alot about the Ohlins with Harris mount and it has a lot of problem with the O-ring that Harris provided. Here is the link of some of the people who have problem with that 0-ring. If its like mine (2000) the Harris + Ohlins doesn't have the O ring. Whilst I have no experience of the Matris, I do with the Harris + Ohlins ........ and it's very good.

Damn the rain (i'm in North Carolina) I only put 150 miles on the first day. But i'm looking forward to the drying days. What do you think about the Scott though. Some of the Ohlins when the bike fall over it can bend or even be broken. I heard some horror stories about how it scatched the tank and all. That's why i'm looking into a Scott steering Damping. i hate the way the damper sits upright in the harris mount.

Ohlins with Graves mount...
