Alright guys, it’s official. The Forum, has just designated a section of the forum specifically for those of you with good hearts and a good will. The name of the section is the “Pay-It-Forward Goodwill?” If you have anything motorcycle related just lying around your garage or closet and you are currently not using it, please help other forum members in need by donating that particular item to the Goodwill section. You may be thinking, “What’s the benefit to me?” Well, the benefit would be to know that you did your part to help out a fellow R1-Forum brother, and contributed to the forum as a whole! This idea started with the forum member named Keep-Up passing along a fender eliminator to me. I then followed his example and passed along a Belstaff All-Weather Riding Jacket onto another forum member…………and the cycle is continuing to gain speed!! :thumbup The amount or value of the item is irrelevant. It does not matter if the item cost you $5.00 or $100.00 bucks. If you are not using it, and if you can spare it, donate it!! There are a few rules that must be followed to keep this fair and honest. Whenever a noble idea arises, there is always that element that comes along and messes up the program. In order to keep things fair and honest, all those who participate must meet the following *requirements* 1) Must have a genuine need for the item in the Goodwill Section. 2) Must promise not to sell the item on eBay or anywhere else for a profit. 3) Must have a minimum of *50* posts (this will weed out the new members who register for the sole purpose of a chance at getting something for free) 4) The most important thing that participants must do is promise to donate something of their own to the Goodwill section so that it can be passed onto another forum member in need. For example: If a participant in the contest wins a stock windscreen for their R1, before they accept the windscreen from the donor, they must have an idea of what they are willing to donate. Immediately after receiving said windscreen, they must post another “contest” in the Goodwill forum donating something of their own. Again, cost and value is not an issue. Just make sure it’s something that another member can get some use out of. *shipping costs can be worked out by the donor and winner. If the donor offers to pay for shipping, fine. If the winner decides to pay for shipping, even better. You guys decide* Each participant will be responsible for conducting their own “contest”, and they can choose the winner however they see fit. Just make sure the contest is held in the most fair and honest manner possible. For example: When I donated my riding jacket, I established a few guidelines for those interested in participating. Since the jacket was blue, I said the participants had to have a blue R1, had to have a need for the jacket, and had to be able to fit it. (It wouldn’t get used if the winner couldn’t fit it). The 8th person who PM’ed me after meeting those requirements was chosen as the winner! Again, set up the contest however you see fit. I will monitor each contest to keep a list of the winners. To give each member an equal opportunity to win, I have established that a winner of a contest can not re-enter another contest for at least 30 days. This will give each forum member an equal chance at winning something! I think an idea like this is PERFECT for a forum such as our own, the R1-Forum.com We are already a tight-knit group, and who better to pass something along to other than our fellow brothers? Don’t look at this as a bunch of poor bastards trying to get something for free, but rather a bunch of brothers keeping things in the family! The next “contest” is supposed to be held tomorrow by the forum member named brianb, who won my riding jacket. In addition to his contest, I will be holding another contest to kinda get things moving. I don’t know what I will be donating yet, but I will post my donation as soon as I find something! Let’s try to have a little fun with this guys, and do your part to keep it fair! Let the games begin!!!!!!!!!!
