Are you sure the proper map for your bike and exhaust is loaded on the Power Commander?

If it is, you shouldn't be having severe low-speed driveability problems like you're describing.

I loaded the map from pc V website for my exhaust. I think I should look into a tune.

Also, remember, none of these new supersport bikes have any low-end...it's been sacrificed in the name of extracting a few more ponies on the top end.

And these things are geared to the moon - they will do over 100 mph in 1st gear, and 6th is geared for 210 (a speed the bike is not capable of reaching).

If you're going to drive around parking lots at 15mph, you may have to get used to working the clutch!

:)

You should also get a 16-tooth front sprocket - it will make the bike more rideable and more fun (not to mention quicker acceleration).

i think that the r1 09 is the only liter bike where you really don't need more down low... it has plenty of power ... specially in A mode, you got everything you need and more cruising.

I hear you there , but i should be able to go below 20 without the bike bogging down.

...check your firmware too. My PCV came with old firmware. My bike did not start well or idle with the old firmware. 100% better after that!!!!

good luck

Gear the bike down. It's the only solution. These engines don't take well to lugging. Try riding through traffic at 15 mph in San Francisco (lots of hills) with a passenger. You'll have to ride with the clutch about half way out with a few extra revs. As the clutch heats up, it will start to grab so you'll have to release it and find the new friction point. These bikes aren't built with slow in mind though they are much better at it than some of their european counterparts.

I did grow up on single track dirt bike trails with 2-stroke MX bikes that don't idle. I've gone for rides where I let the clutch out for a total of 2-3 seconds in a 20-30 minute test of the endurance of your left forearm.
