HELLO,
THIS IS A POLL TO SEE WHAT THE FEELINGS OUT THERE ARE EITHER SUBDIVIDING LARGE SQUADRONS THAT ARE COMPOSED OF SEVERAL STATES TO BECOME MADE UP ON A STATE TO STATE BASIS. LARGE STATES SUBDIVIDE MAYBE? THERE ARE MORE THAN LIKELY ALOT OF "PROS" AND "CONS" TO THIS IDEA. I HAVE EMAILED ON A FEW OCCASIONS NO.6 ON THIS ISSUE AND HE SEEMED VERY SUPPORTIVE OF THE IDEA. I FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE DISSICUSED OPENLY AND AMONG ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE FORUM. ALL FEEDBACK, COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS AND VIEWS ARE WELCOME.

i do not think it is a good idea for the fact there is alot of states that you only have 2 or 3 riders from there

I think that subdividing may be the wrong word for it. My squadron is pretty easy since there are no members in Oregon, so we all know where we live. I think it would be a good idea for the larger squadrons to list their members by state so that you can find people near you quickly, and without having to ask everybody all the time. A few of the squadrons already have this in the works, it is just going to be time before everything can be organized.

Anyone think of giving Yahaha a call and asking for a mailing list of R1 owners. and send out invitations to join this forum, or better yet, ask yamaha to list this forum as a link in their web page?

I think it depends on the situation. according to the assingments i am part of the Mid West squadron. The thing is that I have been seeing that states like Minnesota and the Dakotas are in there too. I think that is a very long way to travel for a group ride.I don't know if it is like this because of how few memebers there are in the area or what, but I think certin situations like this might have to be looked at to descide on what we should do.

I agree with R1CornerMaster...the midwest squadron is HUGE. Maybe break it down a little.

I would have to agree with you both. Look at the south east squadron. It handles a few states... Florida alone is large enough on its own that dividing it would be a possibility. It seems the poll I have posted has sparked an interest in this idea. I hope those responsable for assigining squads look at this and reflect on the current standings and feeling of this issue. I am not saying that this idea may apply to all squads or all states but for the most part it is an idea that should be looked into and delt with. I thank you all for posting your feelings and voting on the poll.

Any more word on breaking up the midwest squadron? I do not think very many guys from Oklahoma would ride to Chicago for a 1 night group ride. No.6, what do you think? I would like to, if agreed to break some of the southern states in to a South Central Squadron? Any views?
