Hey , does anyone know about a ticking sound at idle? It goes away on the throttle. Bike has 23k miles on it, any ideas?

A yamaha with ticking???????

Valves are "supposed" to be self adjusting, like so many other things on motor vehicles that claim the same........it doesnt work.

your lucky u have a ticking sound, i have "yamahammer", think im going to rip the top end apart oneday soon and find the problem :)

Yamahas tick... Just get use to it... it means its fast.

yea mine ticks a little but i work at a dealer here in nj and your supposed to get a valve adjustment at 16k or maybe evan a little more either way just take it in for service and save yourself the headache in the long run
