Graves Full Ti Exhaust

I got my Graves full ti system for my 02 R1 for Christmas and have just now gotten around to putting it on (I didn’t have a pcIIIr until now so no need it putting it on). The first thing I noticed was the lack of instructions. Now I realize, how hard could it be it’s only an exhaust, but I had questions. I got most of the answers from Spidermanss, so I guess that worked out. After that the install went fairly smooth I remover both sides middle and lower fairings and loosened the radiator to get to the old system. I then remover the old system (God that thing is heavy compared to the Graves). I put new exhaust gaskets in, that’s when I got a little stuck, you see the header comes in several parts. Each head tube is separate and numbered 1-4, the problem is that with no instructions I didn’t know which way to go left to right as I was sitting on the bike or left to right as I was looking at the head? I still don’t know for sure if I did it right (I guess I did Everything is on) I went left to right as if I were on the bike. After that everything went fairly smoothly, the next problem I ran into was the fact that the Can was really close to my swing arm (less than ¼ inch) so with a little finesse I bent it out (now I have about ¾ inch of clearance). Finally I put my fairings back on this is where I had my final problem. The lower fairings actually rest on the header (see attached pictures) this concerned me I guess I will have to trim them a little (has anyone else had to do this?). All being said I love my exhaust, I think the Graves product is great, the welds are awesome, the sound is incredible, and the power is noticeably stronger on top, however I feel a little extra attention could have been made in regards to instructions.

Yes I trimmed mine in the same area and then bent my bracket over a little the one that connects to the facoty foot pag location, I only used one spacer that was provided on the right hand side of the bike none on the left. I trimmed my fairings with a little dremel on both sides and you cannot even tell it looks factory.....

Batman, how does the sound compare to stock. Obviously it's louder but I guess I saying is it like a deep tone, growl, or is it loud or not very loud? Any description in sound? By the way it looks sexy. I'm thinking about switching from my Akra to Graves. -STRIDER

I HAVE THE GRAVES SYSTEM AND I USED A ROTO-ZIP(DREMMEL)TO CUT AWAY MY LOWERS AS WELL. I LOVE MY PIPE. THE ONE REAL PROBLEM AS YOU NOTICED IS THE CAN RUBBING YOUR SWINGARM. I DID THE SAME AS YOU BY PULLING THE CAN AWAY FROM THE ARM BUT I PROABBILY PULLED A BIT FURTHER. MY BUDDY DIDNT PULL HIS AND NOW HE HAS A SERIOUS GROOVE IN HIS ARM!!! BUT GRAVES MOTORSPORTS IS MY #1 CHOICE FOR AFTER MARKET SUPPLIES.

If you do switch you would not be dissatisfied. Have you tried adjusting that one tube? Rotating it or something? Because of the way the collector is made, and pre-welded it is not possible to rotate the 1 and 4 header pipe. I have had to trim my lowers I will take some pictures and post then soon. You can hardly even tell, all being said it is still worth it, I love my pipe. You just don't see many of them here; as a matter of fact I have the only one I have ever seen in person. I get a lot of compliments on it. As I said Before I love it.

I think the older R1's (98-01) might not be able to do this. I had my PCIIIr mapped and I have NO flat spots anywhere in the RPM range because the EXUP servo motor is still on my bike so the computer still thinks I have the EXUP on.
