WSB - EDWARDS on Pole!!JJman 03-24-2002, 01:25 AM Anyone seen the results? The racing was over night and I can't find anything on the TV!!:finger BoYRaCeR 03-24-2002, 01:39 AM Yeah...Bayliss won both races... :( ...ok i have no problem with Ducati winning but geez man... at least have Ben Bostrom riding it... :D ...so that makes four straight wins for Bayliss... supposedly a new record. Bah. I hope the season doesnt look like this.
*EDIT* Ooops... i meant to say the record was four straight wins in the beginning of the season. JJman 03-24-2002, 01:54 AM I guess it would make it boring if Bayliss leads/wins the season early.
I want to see Haga up there, he is such an entertainer! BoYRaCeR 03-24-2002, 02:02 AM Oh yeah... its already boring right now... :(

ZzZZzZZZZzzzZzzzzz... Swedie 03-24-2002, 03:50 AM Yep! Watched the first game. I started 2am here. Fell asleep at the end of the first race (tired? yeah).
Did you see the number of Ducati's? I think that's just plain boring. Why didn't Yamaha sponsor a team with the R7?
And they have to allow 4 stroke machines to have atleast 10kg differential to the V-twin's. Then they might have a chance. Droog 03-24-2002, 05:22 AM Or make all bikes 1000cc's no matter if you have 2,3 or 4 cylinders?? Olddog 03-24-2002, 10:40 AM It's become like Harley's on the mile and 1/2 mile here..... boring, processional:( If they would have just let the inlines go to 825cc THAT would be enuf. The 4 cylinders have the topspeed, but can't jump off the corners with the twins torque advantage:mad: 1000cc's ???;) Foget it............. despite what the Ducati elite would say, put a Chili, Bostrom, or even yanagawa on a 1000 inline SUPERbike, and the parties over;)
Maybe it's good that the whole formula is changing in a year or 2. Maybe the series will be less prestigious, but there will be more different brands fighting for the podium than the " superbike Twinfest " we see now BoYRaCeR 03-24-2002, 10:42 AM Would that make an advantage for 4-bangers? I mean... they always give displacement advantage for V-twins. I suppose it will. Olddog 03-24-2002, 12:30 PM The origional displacement rules in WSB were done with the desire to bring the smaller Marques into racing where they might be given a " Handicap " to help them compete with the big 4 Japanese manufacturers.
Now, producing around 180rwhp RELIABLY ;) , the Ducati's are argueably the best balanced package out there. Even Honda gave into the rules format with the sp2.
Early on it's also apparent that in WSB so far this season if you are not on Michelin's:ugh , you are SOL:lol | |
