Recently my fuel light has been coming on earlier then usual. The light comes on and I go to the gas station and it will only take a little more than two gallons when it would usually take almost 4. I figure out what would cause this. I had it serviced recently but the guys at the shop said they wouldn't have touched anything that could cause that. The only other thing that I've changed was I added a lcd screen to my power commander setup.

Mine has done that a couple of times, set your trip at fill up and if you know it's way early keep riding, I bet it goes out again :fact
