Hi all just thougyt i'd mention i got my Astars SMX 1pc today - what a quality suit. The protection seems really good and you get a back protector as standard. Got it in the silver to match my one that i'm getting on 1st March. I was a little unsure about buying it at first as i thought it looked a little bit Power Ranger with all the armour on the outside. Once i had it on though i was really happy with the looks and i think it looks a hundred times better on than hanging up. I also got a pair of SMX plus in black. They are in addition to my GP techs and i think they're a fair bit comfier, seem to have more padding all around and just feel nice. I've got a pair of GP Plus glove sin the Grey/black coming as well. i can't recommend them enough, I've had a pair for the last 2 years and they are just so comfortable once you've broken them in. I'm only getting new ones because i want them to match the leathers and i think my old ones will last forever, the build quality really is that good. I'm working nights this week which means once i get up tomorrow afternoon it'll be into the leathers and in front of the TV with some racing action on DVD! Hope some of this info might help anyone considering getting any of the kit menationed. Cheers, Johnny

I also have the SMX boots and am very satisfied. They were comfortable right off the bat. Only thing is I have worn down the toe gaurds and have no clue where to get replacements?

Extasy, I'll get some pics sorted asap. Now i've had chance to wear it all in a bit i'm even more impressed. The leathers have got nice and comfortable and they look the bolloocks, even if i do say so myself. The boots are great as well but i hd problems when i first rode the bike with them all on last weekend - changing gear was a real problem as they were so stiif. I've got Gilles rearsets fitted so i'm not sure if that made it worse due to the positioning. Now i've softened them up a bit they're much better but still need a bit more wear before they will be properly comfortable. Bluedevil- not sure where you can get the toesliders. How about your local dealer?? Johnny.

Just takes getting use to and loosin up huh? I got my SMX at kneedraggers for 190.00. Not sure what the Plus go for.

How would you say the SMX-Plus boots are sized? Do they run small or big or do they seem to match street shoes? I don't have the opportunity to try them, but was thinking about doing a mail order. I wear 11 in most shoes, but wondered if I should error a little big (like 11.5) since they just look so rigid. Thanks.

Thanks. I would say it depends on the shape of your foot. Unlike the Sidi's, the SMX Plus boots have a narrower toe, so you may need to go alittle larger if you have a wide foot. If you use the following chart, you'll see that a size 46 is just a tad larger than a true size 11, so you might be good with the 46. Thanks, Ray

46 is good for me.. Getting my smx-plus soon in black.. Don't forget to stick some clear sticky stuff on those shiney heel guards, as they will scratch up your bike.. ;)

I have a solid size 9 (US) foot, which should put me in a 43 euro smx+, but the 42 fits me perfectly. Ain't no way I have a size 8 foot, so you'd best try some on at a local dealer before ordering online. I've found that A-stars boots can be had from a local dealer at or near mail order prices (incl. shipping).
