yah.. but Nubian kinda went cold turkey... not sure how he'd feel about his info being put on this site.. if you get it cleared by him.. that would be awsome..
oh and.. the yellowbox and stuff is a great idea.. i'll be getting my undertail kit in a few days... and remaking the final prototype of my passenger peg signals.. should have a few How To's finished in the next few weeks.. tidbit 02-21-2003, 12:36 AM all i want to see is more guys helping out with getting info into this section.. it can be very simple or complex.. remember we have a wide range of riders.. and this section should cater to them all.. :fact TerminatorR1 02-21-2003, 12:57 PM Nubian took his jetting thread down. My Buddy Crazy did a detailed install of the Yellow box. Maybe he could post it here. mshumake 02-21-2003, 01:08 PM http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=25876&highlight=procedure

How about a carbon fiber muffler repacking how-to?
I was told today by Ron at Pipecity.com that the packing in carbon fiber cans should be repacked every 4000 miles at the most or you risk melting the resin portion of the carbon fiber due to thermal breakdown of the packing. keep-up 05-27-2003, 08:43 PM How about a how-to on a fork install or change out? Or general fork overhaul? ivanlucas 05-28-2003, 09:39 AM how to lube cables is dead easy - no tools required. Just get a piece of polythene punch a hole in the centre, push cable through the hole and wrapp tightly around cable - using an elastic band to secure. open the top to form a polythene 'funnel' with the cable at the bottom and then squirt some 'WD40' or similar(releasing oil) and allow it to drain down into the cable. It may leak a little, but it is very effective. I have even freed cables that were siezed solid using this method.

I'll be doing a few How-To's this winter.. since tidbit is actually getting off his lazy ass and buying a digital camera :fact r6vls 11-05-2003, 12:51 AM I like the "how to" lube your cables idea. I'm a visual learner so pictures are always worth a thousand words for me... Some other basic "how to's" that might be good for newbies would be "How to tighten your chain" (even though you can read about that in your service manual), again, the cable lubing, change brake pads, I liked the "how to apply decals" idea, and that's about all I got for now. These are relatively easy subjects to broach, but I think they're some of the most common things we do (or need to do) for our bikes so it couldn't hurt to have some discussion on it. :-) baer42 11-07-2003, 02:19 PM How to put signiture on the bottom of your posts.Everytime I try to post a pic it tells me it's to big.Idon't know how to make it smaller shiftkx 02-24-2004, 11:40 AM yea Frontside720 04-19-2004, 12:31 PM How to give your bike a full spring tune up. Example: changing '02 - '05 running lights into blinkers.
I like helping people out with anything I can, but sometimes you end up posting the same info over and over. Not that bad, but it seems better to have the info easily accessable by reading one thread.
I understand there are new people all the time, and it takes a bit to get used to how this site works, so some sort of way of letting it be known that there is a place to look first.
Just my .13 cents....... simplythebest 06-26-2005, 11:15 AM WOW...this section is confusing.
How about making this for only How-to's
What the point of people asking maintenance and technical questions here, when there is another section for that. R1/RT 09-07-2005, 08:37 PM How do you get a personalized Avater??? How do you get your bike pic onto a URL? SportbikerR1 12-03-2005, 08:04 PM Originally posted by hooligan_r1

Why not make 1 sticky non postable thread where the admins point to the major how to's for the various years of r1's... that would help alot Yves 08-01-2006, 09:34 AM I would certainly appreciate a sticky: "Cleaning your bike 101"...
I have tons of questions and let's all be honest, cleaning a bike is fidly work and takes a lot of time that we could be riding instead!
* Everybody could give tips and pointers on how they clean specific parts of the bike, like the topic on chain & sprocket cleaning which already exists.
* Als which are good products and less good products to use. Which will harm the bike and which won't,...
How about it? Wheat 08-09-2006, 01:07 PM Originally posted by Yves
