Has anyone had a problem with programs like Nero not showing your total amount of Firewire burners when using multiples?


I have seen my DVD+R dissappear when I go to do burns on CDrs on my other FW burner...it only does it on certain occasions...and I havent pinpointed what they are exactly yet...

is this "BUNDLED SOFTWARE" ???

if not, i think there are many incompatibilities :(

OK, lemme take a breather, when I open windows explorer it shows that I have 3 CD Drives, WTF, I only have 2, F&G, H is my 20 ZIp Drive, and I is well I dunno. How do U remove that SOB. I tried Computer Management , disk management but it didnt do squat. I am running 2000 server BTW and also have NERO full ver. Here is a printscreen pic TIA:hellobye

It looks like nero installed a "virtual" drive for making images. Do a custom uninstall (or install) and see if it has an option for that?

Ruben, you've been playing around again haven't you. :2bitchsla

Go into add/remove programs and see if there is a program there called Nero Image Drive or Image Drive, something like that. If not, try a full uninstall. If that doesn't work, there's always FDISK, that fixes EVERYTHING.:lol

LIke they said... you have imagedrive installed. What you can use it for is when you have an .img file (which is image file) on your computer, you don't have to burn the image on CD and just play it right from your hard drive.

Keep it man.. it doesn't hurt anything. Plus when you ever have an image file you can play it right away without burning it.:p

yea, it looks like nero has mounted itself as a logical drive.. check add/remove programs for a seperate nero program that does it. you already tried to manage it and you can't remove it? worst case try reinstalling nero and see if that fixes it.

Just in case you didnt know:

When NERO installs an ImageDrive...it is so you can take a CD you already have and create an ISO file for it....

That ISO file can be sent to anyone else using compatble burning software and they can make a CD from that file....

To have the image drive installed is no biggie really..

Ty 4 all the replies guys. You pretty much covered all the angles. I had previously tried add/remove programs but Nero Image installer isn't there. I then tried start/programs/ahead/nero looking for the Uninstall Image installer, but that isn't available. I guess I could just live with it but it bothered me that I now have an extra cd rom drive without a physical cd rom in my pc. I will leave it alone....for now.....TY for all ur help! Whats FDISK again:bash ?

What's the big deal with that extra "drive" showing up in Nero...Does it show up in my computer? NO...It will only show up in Nero and it is used to to make images of cds as stated before...Leave it alone cuz you may want to make an image of a cd one day...Personally I use cdrwin to make my images so i can get the bin/cue but Nero will make you .img and .nrg iso images...
