Hello to all, newbie here. I am completing a purchase for a used bike ('02 R1) tomorrow morning. I'm uncomfortable wiring money to seller's bank before receiving the goods. This is what the seller would prefer. My Plan: -I have the branch & will call tomorrow to gather account holder info. Time of account & confirm name of account holder -Since it is a business account, I'll check the BBB in the area I'm accustomed to paypal & COD. But something of this scale I'm not use to. I've done a couple of searches here and came up with nothing. Maybe some of you who have seen this topic before could point the way? thx in advance.

It just in the past it was so inconvenient. Plus for a small item, it cuts into deal. But for this transaction, it is worth looking into. rgds.

This really should have been titled "How not to buy a bike from out of state". UPDATE: This was in fact Joshua Hamp of Houston. Thanks to you R1 members. Though I likely would have not completed the transaction because he did not fax me a photo I.D. or draft a detailed bill of sale, I certainly would have been alot more anxious and (dare I say) greedy to close this "great deal". As the saying goes, " if it's too good to be true, it most probably is". Thanks R1 forum members. My information has been forwarded to the Houston District Attorney. I hope they gather enough to put this guy away for a few years. BEWARE, he still has active classified ads. The one I responded to was from 2wf. Best Rgds.

:hellobye Glad you didn't get scammed. The first thing I thought when I saw "Houston" was of that little waste of human life :machinegu :machinegu Josh Hamp Why is he not in jail yet? Sureley he has committed some federal violations by now. I think I'll get in touch with a friend of mine that I ride with at the FBI and see if we can set this little prick up. If I can get him to mail me something and get the mail system involved then he will be guilty of mail fraud...a federal offense.

Glad you didn't get scammed by this bastard. I cannot believe the fagot is still walking the street (or able to walk in general). Honestly, how has this guy not been arrested?? I think our Houston bretheren should go get some vigalante justice. - BA
