I just moved to Maryland from Pennsylvania, and I'm looking for some real sick roads (areas) to ride. Does anybody know of any fairly close by? I'm looking for big twisties.

Tim 03-26-2002, 11:53 AM During week days head down Rt 66 (a little) to warrenton and skyline drive, which goes through Shenandoah valley. Also try the blue ridge parkway, on which no commercial vehicles are permitted. For a short ride the GW parkway from Maryland to Mount Vernon is a nice ride.
Where are you located in Maryland? young 03-26-2002, 12:08 PM I'm in Waldorf. If you don't know where that is, this should give you an idea. If you cross the Wilson Bridge and head down 210 south that will put you in the area. I guess I was up your way last week. I rode up to Georgetown. Nice place to look around, not so nice to ride in the traffic though. Tim 03-26-2002, 12:35 PM Stay out of the District at all costs! Since moving to VA four years ago, I've been into the District about five times. Traffic is a nighmare and this is a f@@#@'n stop sign or light (which is not synched) every block. The Rock Creek parkway is the only enjoyable road in DC. When in the District, take the metro. If you go to your local Borders, there is a good motorcylce tour book about Virginia backwoods roads; it's quiet good. young 03-26-2002, 12:36 PM Thanks man I appreciate it. If your ever in my area let me know. Tim 03-26-2002, 01:06 PM Same here. I'm always up to riding my R1. | |
