Hey guys I just ordered a GYT-R Ti Exhaust Slip on from my dealer for my silver 2002 R1. The part number was GYT-5PW93-01-TT the "TT" stands titanium, if you put a "CF" it specifies Carbon Fiber.
The retail on the Ti is $680
The retail on the CF is $470
My question is has anyone had any experience with the GYT-R pipes?

Keep us posted. I was thinking about the Akro, but I might go with the GYT-R instead...
Do you know if the Ti or the CF is lighter?

I called Yamaha directly for this information because my dealer had not received any information yet.
The Yamaha rep told me that the new TI pipes is awsome. He also said that it is lighter and also oval. It sounded very cool to me!
I am just wondering why I don't see any of them on any of the R1's I come across. Maybee I just don't get out enough.
Also the availability is the CF will ot the 1st week of April and the TI will be out the last week of April.

You got a number for the Yama rep? Wanna ask him about the GYT-rcarbon parts while I'm at it... I'd rather get em from Yama then LP if they're not too expensive.

I know a guy who had a GYT-R pipe on an FZ1 he thought that it was a piece of shit and replaced it with a Graves Motorsports titanium system. There are so many pipes out there with incredible finishing and welds, that I would pick the Yam pipe about 48th in a choice of 50 pipes. It just looked kind of cheesy to me. The new ones could be better although I wouldn't know. Good luck......;)
I put one on my girlfriends R6 and it sounds great! Finish is on par with a Hindle.
