Since they're letting 1000cc 4bangers in... will Yamaha use the R1 now? But I still wish we had an R7 over here...:D
Will Yamaha return to SBK in 2003 with R1?BoYRaCeR 03-27-2002, 04:01 PM Since they're letting 1000cc 4bangers in... will Yamaha use the R1 now? But I still wish we had an R7 over here...:D smold 03-31-2002, 10:52 AM Virgin Yamaha are racing a R1 in this years British superbike along with GSX-R's should be interesting come the world superbike round 23 May @ Silverstone Droog 04-01-2002, 01:34 PM The 1000cc's will not ride world Superbike at Silverstone because they have to use bikes conforming to Superbike rules, that means 750 cc 4 cylinders, 900cc triples and 1000cc twins. As far as 2003 go, that will be too soon to change the rules that drastically. 2004 will be the earliest if they allow 1000 cc fours in World Superbike. BoYRaCeR 04-01-2002, 03:35 PM Hmmm... yeah i just re-read the magazine... 2004 it is. But i think thats a little late. Especially since GP is moving to 4-stroke... and the fact that they have some other silly rules. Oh well... guess ill have to watch the BSB instead. smold 04-01-2002, 05:17 PM Originally posted by Droog

I think they have dispensation for this because they will lose championship points is they don't. | |
