1 lift out of the racing position and stare down concernedly down the side of bike tilt head to oneside and pretend to listen to some strange noise coming from engine nod a no with the head and he will go alone from here. 2 point at gas tank to indicate that your running on fumes and need to turn around 3when he is on your tail and pedestrians are in view, sit up slow down and look around and at the sky as if looking for police helicoptor because you have indicated your gonne do a wheelie.

Hell give him a high five as he passes and let him by., then follow him if you can without pucshing your limits and try to learn something. There will always be faster guys out there! Who cares? Ride your own ride and let 'em ride theirs! Big bore sportbikes + Ego = misery.

I think one of the best ways to improve at something is to watch others that are better then practice! :fact

do a rolling burn out and let him crash in the smoke seriously, i agree with sitting behind someone that's great, take a race class and see what i mean, i did 2 laps behind jason pridmore and it was quite a learning experience

when a faster rider is on your tail, you will become aware of it when he passes you. You shouldnt be worried about what is behind you anyways, and if he is faster, he will find a way around. Just ride your line.

I always appreciate it when a slower guy lets me by. It shows me he knows enough to know there are faster guys out there, and it limits my time evaluating his technique. THose idiots that think that just cause I cought up with them so quickly doesn't mean that I am faster and that now they have someone to race with just end up pissing me off till I just push my way through in the next corner, however, they do slow down after that!:2bitchsla

also dont change lines to try and block people when you see them in your mirror that really annoys me.

I've never been in this situation and don't plan on being in it either, but the reasons seem funny enough to work:lol

i have a hose that goes past the back tire so when someone tries to pass me i spill oil out of the tube and they crash. no one has passed me yet.

What I like to do is let them pass me. Then, I try and keep up with them and ride well above my abilities. After a few turns, I run wide on a sharp hairpin and into a large bank of shrubs or off a steep hillside. :crash

The highside trick is sweet. But I get slight body pains after pulling one off. *shrugs*

I hate it when someone on another R1, or a Gixxer 1K is at the track and they are obviously slower than me through the twisty stuff, but I would have to stuff them into a corner to pass them at the end of the straight. I usually get off the track, and get right back on so I don't end up killing him. Anyone can go fast on the straights. But if you know that someone is running up your ass, let them pass on the straight, and try to follow them; you'll learn a lot by trying to keep up. If you end up faster than them, then go ahead and pass them back the next lap.

just to clear some stuff up, this thread was intended as a joke to make you laugh but some posters have taken a more seriouse attitude to a joke post.the situation i presented was more then obviouse based on the street/twistys as i spoke about police helicopters in the sky and filling up for gas. yes it is polite and yes it is the biking etiquette thing to do is to move over if poss to let the faster rider pass ( i dont know about track use rules ) but the slower rider has no obligation to move over or slow down ( i am not talking freeways here but i am talking single or double track country roads with bends that we all love ) and it really is down to the faster rider to find the correct moment to make the overtake manouver and if the faster rider messed up the manouver and caused a crash with both bikes i expect the insurance companys and the courts would most likely think the faster rider was to blame as long as the slower rider did nothing legally wrong especially if the faster rider was speeding. now chill out for christ sake.
