If you ever tried to undo an exhaust manifold stud or nut, you’ll know how stubborn they can be espesialy if you have not put a high temp grease( like ciopper slip) on it before you tightened it up last season. The main reason they stick is the changes in temperature they suffer. Because the studs are usually made of a different material to the cylinder head they bolt to, they get hot – and firmly stuck. To prise them off, try heating them with a blowtorch, which you can get for a few bucks. By heating the area you’ll make the metal expand at a different rate, hopefully breaking the seal that stops them coming off

Something you guys might want to watch out for... Heating up the bolt can help yes.. But in some cases heating will make the situation worse.. It all depends on how hard the metal you are trying to expand (normally not the bolt) is vs the bolt itself.. for instance.. if the screw is made out of ally.. and the threads is made of something harder.. you will end up expanding the metal that reacts to heat better (steel/chrome/so on).. in this case the screw will expand making the screw harder to get out. You could always try another type of libricant before running off to pull out the blow torch.. I use PB Blaster.. It penatrates between the threads to losen whatever gunk has build up over time.. I have yet to find a bolt that wont give up to this compound. Also.. NEVER use a blow torch on Titanium.. This metal has a tendancy to bubble and warp when heated with extreme heat.. The blow torch is a great idea.. But only as a last resort. :fact
