As far as a-star goes, I think its top notch. Cant comment on any two piece suites, but I got alpinestars all the way, and the Gp-plus are great and perhaps the most price worthy of them all.

The GP Plus gloves are excellent, I've had 2 spills(crashes) in mine and they stood up to the abuse no problem. I've just had to buy myself a new pair as whilst out for a cold winter ride I decided to warm my gloves up on my exhaust can!! Not the best idea I've ever had. The Alpine star jet road are pretty good winter gloves as well.

I've got the GP Plus gloves - they're well worth the money, got astar two piece suit, not sure what model but the quality/fit is excellent, went for astar smx boots, decided against the goretex ones as water can get down where they meet the pants anyway so the extra $100 didn't seem worth it, just treated them with leather wax. same for suit and gloves.

I have a pair of SP1 gloves, probably last years model. The first pair I had went down at about 50mph when I was dropping into a turn on a track day ( I got taken out by a GSXR idiot - see pic below of what he did to my rear wheel:mad: ) I didn't have far to fall but I still went through the end of the little finger of the glove on one hand. About a 1cm square hole. No damage to my skin though. I have never "tested" anything else but I would say they stood up well. My leathers were just grazed, but then they are thicker leather and hand made for racing (Crowtree made in the UK). I did however buy another pair exactly the same, as I find them very comfortable, and they have a good wrist strap.
