Squadron Names?

:fact Anyone come up with any ideas on the name? "Snake Pit"? "Redliners"? "Lightning "something??? LOL "Rogue Crew"? "Eight Ball"? "LightSpeed"? Just something I came up with, obviously if you think they suck, well...........:finger LOL. I'll keep trying. :iamwithst

I liked the name we originally talked about which was the dragons with a design made by drevil andmodified by lighting. I forget how he mispells his name. This is what it looked like.

How about "Los Putones"? (its Spanish have it translated by someone)

Dragons is the official name of the West squadron now. Sorry r1blinkandgone, you guys waited just a little too long for that one. How about "Sundowners" as an option? I'm sure Sundowners would like that.

I got one................ La cosa nostra. For those of you not familiar with this expression It translates to "our Thing". I don't think I need to go into it's history. I like East coast Mayhem or Chaos. Either one is good. How about Biker Boyz :crash :crash No seriously how about.....The Crew!!!!!!! Yeah that is very plain yet menacing. let's decide on something soon.

Since a lot of the squadrons are using "real" squadron nicknames, how about some of these (from a book published in 1986, so some of the squadron numbers might be outdated, and there bound to be new ones...) If you want to go with Yamaha blue: Bluehawks (VA-72) Blue Blasters (VA-34) Blue Diamonds (VA-146) Other ones that sound kinda cool (IMO): Bounty Hunters (VF-2) Red Rippers (VF-11) [Honda killer name?] Thunderbolts (VA-176) Black Aces (VF-41) Jolly Rogers (VF-84) Black Lions (VF-213) Black Knights (VF-154, VMFA-314, HS-4) Screaming Eagles (VF-51) I always thought the Jolly Roger markings on the F-14 were the coolest, when I was a kid... Anyway, just throwing some ideas out...

Maybe you could send out PM's to those people fitting into the region for the NE squadron and you could draw more people in that way. I know that it took me awhile to wander into here and people might have questions regarding items such as what (if anything) you have to do to become a member, etc. Maybe a sticky would clear up some confusion. Just some thoughts. :)

Yeah man, I like all of those-very cool. If no one else is going to come up with anything or have any suggestions I say we put it to a vote. Any problems with that? (all 6 of us who replied to this thread?) LOL. I'm going to send the admin a note about posting a vote then. If no one else jumps in, then we'll pick amongst ourselves and leave it at that.

Cool Deal, Also, I think (Hope) this might take off alittle more now that spring is here (well, you couldn't tell from the snow outside today, LOL) Hopefully, more people will return as they take their bikes out of storage, and get in the mood to talk about them somemore. :hellobye Hey Ray, good to hear from you. I'd say CT is definately part of the NW crew! I have to OK from admin #6 so compile all the name suggestions and put them to a vote. Still sorting out the names now and each vote will last approx 2 days. When we weed out the votes, we'll have it down to 3 names in the end. I'll also post a note in the general forum prior to starting this. Hopefully, like you said, more people will get involved as the weather gets a bit nicer. I also plan on taking whatever name we go with and having some decals made with whatever design we come up with. So, get out and ride------when the snow is gone!!!

I'm liking the ones that sound more like real fighter/attack squadron names. The ones with "crew" or "East Coast" in them sound more like bad gang names to me.

Oh yeah, and while we're talking about adding state names...what about the "real" Northeast states like MA, VT, RI, NH, ME? I thought NY/NJ were mid-Atlantic states... :D

OK, These are the one's I picked: Taking a little piece of History: #1: Road Runners (VA-144): 1 name says it all, 2nd we can just modify their insignia alittle to make it fit our needs, like change the Atomic symbol to the Yamaha Tuning Forks, and change the lighting bolt to R1. The Graphic would go with any color bike, and shouldn't be that expensive to make #2: Gladiators (VA 106): Just because the name is cool, but I don't really feel the insignia Something original for the group: #3: I like the ECC (East Coast Crew) not Chaos. Not sure if that's the message you want to show people and have them stereotyping us even more.... Just My 2¢ Later, Ray

Also, using the road-runners, gives me the impression that the Yamaha R1 is the Road-Runner and every other bike is just the Coyote Us NE guys have pride in our ride ;)

I like the ridge runners better than the road runners. the east coast crew sounds like it belongs in the cheesy biker movies or fast and the furious.

If you follow a ridge there tends to be alot of turns which we all love to ride.

Don't give me too much credit, since I don't really know Latin. One of the verses of "Ten Thousand Men of Harvard" starts out, "Illegitimum non carborundum, Domine salvum fac." :) Now how many schools are really stuffy enough to have fight songs with verses in Latin?
