These are a 530 front and rear steel sprocket. They come with the rk gxw 530 black chain and are priced under 200 dollars with free shipping in the US. While supplies last :nforc:

I'm going -1/+2 on my '09, with that said should I stick with a 530 or 525 or is it still ok to drop to a 520?

Thanks.

Most people drop to the 520 superlight steel chain kits and are just fine. I run a 520 hard anodized alum on my 1000cc bikes and have never had one issue. Maintenance is what is crucial on a chain kit.

Corey, i've had my eye on the driven steel sprockets for a couple weeks now. On the fence between going steel for longevity or aluminum for weight savings.

You say you run aluminum on your liter bike, how many miles are you getting out of it??? I really want to go aluminum for weight savings but not if i'm going to be replacing it every 3-4k mi.

If you take care of it through proper chain slack and cleaning/lubing it you should get an easy 8-15k miles out of it.

wellpers....i have run both with lots of front and rear combinations on my bikes. (all 1000cc) and i get about 15-20K out of both the 520 and 530 steel sets. i have never tried the alluminum ones that corey mentioned. but by his numbers your gonna get a few thousand less. is that worth the cost/wieght to you??

also check out gearingcommander.com and play with the links tab, you will notice that nubmer of lengths/teeth will impact your chain life greatly too.

i personally run the 520s on all my liter bikes after the first stock chain/sprockets need replacement.

(hope that helps a little bit, after you helped me eariler today!!)

I figured the 520 would have less durability. I keep trying to find a concrete reason not to run the 520 but haven't yet. Guess I might just have to give one a shot :lol thanks for the info:thumbup

Looking for a kit like this. Black chain with black steel sprockets 16/45. Is the RK GXW chain all black with silver rivets, or does it have gold inner plates like the one pictured? Also, how much is shipping to Australia?

Yes, it has black inner and outer links. The picture is for reference only. That is the ek black chain. This deal is for the rk black chain though.

Do we order from your website, or here? I'm changing swingarms on the R1, so may as well go full bore.
