There are many great systems out there on the market. Arata, Hindle, Akrapovic, and Graves just to name a few really good ones. There are others as well.

More to the point, the best pipes for the 98-01 R1s are the Muzzy full Ti, Arata, Akra, Graves. Of these, all are 4-2-1, except the Akra, which is 4-1. Drop in Ivan's kit, an k&N, APE, or BMC race filter element, and Ivan's airbox mod. I'm into welding and wanted to make my own system. If you don't us a mufler and can record a file (.wav, mp3, .mov, etc) I'd really appreciate it.
My 3.5" custom exhaust on my car is wicked sounding. Makes my R1 sound like a sick hampster.

there is a similar pipe that I have been checking out, but it has replacable packing. The only thing I don't like is that it is held on by by one hose clamp type fastener.
