there was some talk a few weeks back about doing a "wheelie school." wondering if anyone is still interested in this? R1Minger said something about his warehouse having a few hundred feet of paved private road behind it.. although if that doesnt work anymote Prizefighter and I are working on a couple of other local places for he and I to get some practice time in. So i'm wondering if anyone is still interested in attending a wheelie day somewhere. Participation is obviously optional (i.e spectating is fine). And if so, what day/time works best?

I would be just need more miles on my ride. Currently I'm at 685 so I don't want to abuse her to much.

darkside.. how many miles are you putting on it before you consider it "broken in" ?? most tuners say anywhere from 100-300 is broken in, and even yamaha says after 600 you are free to beat the piss out of it.

I'm thinking about 5K. Actually I just want to get up 750 or more which with any luck could be this week

Mototune USA says to break it in by beating the shit out of it :fact The "take it easy" break in was actually designed to keep newbie riders from abusing their bikes, giving them around 1000 miles to learn to ride.

I'd love to get in on this! I could use some wheelie and stoppie practice and can't seem to find someplace safe that I won't get a ticket. Seattle is so hard to find a good practice place. The guys in STR would love to join in if you don't mind a big group. If you do mind, I'd love to come by myself and get some practice in.

naw, ric, the bigger the group, the better (in my opinion). if R1Minger objects, then feel free to speak up.. but plenty of people should be fine, as long as everyone understands how to be responsible when stunting around others (i.e. we set it up so any potential crashes only involve the person who is crashing, and not 3 other bikes in their path) assuming he does have a few hundred feet of road, as i seem to recall him saying, shouldn't be too difficult to organize it. if minger can't come through, i think we have one or two other possible places we could hold it. also, i should mention that we'll be filming whatever does happen (anytime we stunt, we film it) so consenting to be on film is a requirement ot the adamgeek wheelie school, hehe.

yea, Trey, that could be a good backup plan. but ideally i'd like a 200 foot (or longer!) flat/straight road that we could do dozens of passes on without the fear of anyone getting tickets or having to evade the police. best way to do that is a "private road" or parking lot that we can put a couple cones up with a "NO PUBLIC ENTRY" sign, and voila... even if the cops come you aren't doing anything illegal because it's a private (nonpublic) road. i wish we had more (any) abandoned airstrips around here. even the super low traffic ones i could find get like 50 planes a day. oh well, either R1minger can step up, or i'll work on getting us some tracktime.

It would be nice to have a wide road to work with so when I crash I wont be in the dirt. We need to hunt up a good spot.

So your telling me that ripping standups on 405/ maple valley hwy with a group of 25bikes is "responsible"? With bikes in front of you and behind you?:fact  :2bitchsla Hhaahhahahhhahhaa. :yesnod Just bustin your balls dude. Let us all know what Craig says.

The back of our warehouse is more like a 150 yards and is pretty wide. I definitely want some better weather though. It is in the south end and there really isn't a road behind it, just a field. I don't want 100 bikes out there though. We might want to keep it simple the first time and see how it goes. Than maybe have a second school. Lord knows I need more than one day. I just put a 15 tooth sprocket on the front yesterday :jump

Cool. Count me in...I'm not a very good stunter. But I am a very responsible group rider and want to learn more. If you like, I could get a small number of people from STR for practice. Some of the guys do tank wheelies, standups, can-cans, all kinds of rolling burnouts, rolling stoppies, skitching. We always video tape too...we are putting out a video this year. Some of the guys in STR are pretty amazing stunters. I can always get them to come for wheelie round 2 or 3 or sometime down the road. I don't think r1minger would really want us to show up in force though...when we used to ride to a prior wheelie road, we would roll 20-40 deep and that tends to attract a lot of attention.
