Hey man! Nice to have more locals on here!!!!

There are a few members on here that I will be contacting soon to organize a group meet/ride.

I live in Forest Lake & so does another member on this Forum. This summer I think we are going for Friday night meets for riding.

I have no problem sharing my house, beer, bon-fire pit, wife's girlfriends, etc, with my riding buddies. :thumbup

PM me your # & I will call you if you want. Or email me at R1SpeedMaster@mail.warpdriveonline.com

What time do you work Friday nights (starting?) that is. Because we can always go out early and split up after a certain time...

It doesn't have to be Fridays either. I can ride any night except for Thursday nights (wife's night out). I plan on going up to the cabin a lot this summer & some of my Fridays will have to be no-shows. :(

Not long enough. I would say right around now (mid-April) to perhaps mid-October.

It sucks balls!:(

Yeah, I'm definately looking forward to it. Now if this weather just turns back around. Got a taste of the R1 last week and then stuck driving the 3000gt now again. Guess thats not a very good complaint though. :lol

Quit complaining Shawn. That is the nicest $50 car I have ever seen!!!!!!

It's not a honda is it? :lol Of course I would fall into the typical mitsu owner catagory and start talking smack about honda's, but I'll behave myself. All my cars are mitsu's or made by mitsu.

Pretty damn nice car for $50.00 if you ask me, plus can you say -

"No Car Payment"

:lol

conquest_tsi
04-17-2003, 02:31 PM
No car payment is always a bonus. My R1 payments are more then the payments on my 3000gt vr4. Fortunately both should be paid off by the end of this year.

conquest_tsi
04-17-2003, 02:37 PM
My biggest problem is once I get something paid off I get that damn itch to go buy something else. My 88 and 89 chrysler conquests, my 92 stealth rt/tt and my 96 fzr are paid for. If I actually find someone to buy the fizzer that should just about payoff my R1 though. :rock

My vehicles are paid off except for my wife's car.
I am selling my truck this summer & buying a Jeep Wrangler. I can't wait.

conquest_tsi
04-17-2003, 02:49 PM
Wranglers are just a blast in the summer. My dads has an 88 that he uses around the farm and we have more darn fun with that thing.

I am sitting here doing inventory updating for out 1000+ Novell/NT server farm here at USBank..

Not to mention baby sitting a Novell cluster "farm" right now, and dealing with fixing these damn quarterly password updates that don't take on some of these Netware 5.1 servers...

That doesn't sound like much fun. Some days I'm glad we got rid of novell. :yesnod :yesnod :yesnod

Yeah, NT can be a pain in the ass too when it wants too. The few Unix boxes we have never go down unless we tell them too.

markeddy

Novell had it's day. You can still install it on a piss ass little 486/100 with 64MB of RAM and it will run and stay up for 100+ days without a reboot.

Now try and do that with NT4.0 ehha, 2000...don't even thing about it...

I have a good buddy that does not ride but is a Solaris/UNIX guy. He dabbles in Linux quite a bit, I have yet to install Linux and play around with it...

Was thinking about buying REDHAT, installing it and playing around with it for a few months and then go take the RHCE test to get their basic certification on it.

I would rather be out riding that studying right now...I think we all can agree on that... :)

Yeah, there is something to be said about the stability of some of those old novell boxes. A friend of mine used to work for Carlson and he told about one of their old novell boxes that was up I believe in excess of 700 days before it died. I thought that was pretty impressive.

markeddy
04-17-2003, 03:38 PM
That tops my old job's netware servers. We had some of our older Novell 4.11 servers stay up for over 400+ days.

700 days...I couldn't even imagine a server being up for that long, especially with all the patches/updates that usually need to be applied.

AMAZING!!!

The guy that had built it originally was still there when it died and sounded like he was almost in tears when he heard it died after that long.

I just had my first passenger on the r1 last weekend and was pretty impressed with the balance and handling. My fzr600 is about the same weight but seems so friggin top heavy with a passenger. Last time I had a passenger on that was a few years ago when I was out in sturgis with the x-gf. The last day we were out there we put on close to 300 miles. That was just too many miles in one day for two people on a fizzer. :cryin

I live like 15 minutes from elk river. Seems like nobody there know's how to drive. :lol

R1SpeedMaster
04-18-2003, 07:45 AM
I don't really mind the passengers, but prefer to ride without them. My wife won't ride on the back of my R1, so I got a Yammie Solo Seat Cowl & removed my rear pegs & I love it.

conquest_tsi
04-18-2003, 07:55 AM
I definately don't mind having a passenger, especially if they're cute. But for some reason nobody here at work will go with me. :lol

One time my wife wanted to get a job where I work & I said no. When I am at work, I am focusing on work. I don't want anybody bugging me about non work related things. Especially if I was dating some girl (which I am not, just a hypothetical scenario). I agree with fjorn completely, dating office women is baaaad!

They go :boobies, makes you :(, then you feel , which leads to :2bitchsla & :machinegu. Then you get arrested, which makes you :cryin & you are forced to :butt, while Bubba :jump, & makes you :ugh. Get the picture? :lol

That's a pretty funny way of looking at it

conquest_tsi
04-18-2003, 10:19 AM
Yeah, I've always thought dating someone at work is a bad idea. Been here over 4 years and managed to avoid it so far. Had a chance with one of the vp's daughters but that would have been just asking for trouble. :no

I think the reason nobody here will get on the bike with me is because apparently I have a reputation for driving fast. Oh well :lol :lol :lol
