IXIL Exhaust Pipe

I just want to know what you guys think about an IXIL Hi-Mount Exhaust Slip-On Pipe for my '03 R1. Let me know what you guys think.

looks nice.. but damn.. why did they put that "silencers" on 03 model uugghhhh..... the plate for pre 02 models are so much nicer!

Yes, I have looked at devilbikes pipe. They are really nice but a lot of my boys in my bike club got these pipes and I don't want to be another one with devil pipe, if you know what I mean :)

So, can anyone tell me how are these IXIL slip-ons sound like? Loud or quiet, more or less horsepower compare to MIG or D&D. Because I like the way D&D sounds, LOUD! But I don't think D&D makes any hi-mount system. Anyone's opinion before I order this IXIL exhaust?

that label looks gay as hell ......I like the way the older pipe looks over that one......I doubt the ixil will compare to the d&d sound wise....I run the micron high rise and if I had it to do over again I would go with a full hindle high rise system

I think the pic looks like a mig just not as cool. Just my opinion.

I have been looking at several different high rise systems and I like the looks of the IXIL. The fact that they are on the West bikes helps too. If you want to take a look at dyno chart one is posted: http://www.indysuperbikes.com/Isb1/Indysuperbikes%20Frame.htm Go into exhaust section then look at dynos. The only thing I am not a big fan of is no passanger foot pegs. As far as sound is concerned D&D is the loudest I have heard. But I do not think the IXIL would be far behind. ~Tron

Two Bros makes a kit that allows you to use the pass pegs with their high mount system. I think the design of their kit would let you use it with other pipes. They have pretty good pictures on their web page

Thanks for all your replies on this thread. I appreciate every opinions you guys put your effrort in. I think I am going for it, I am going to order two of these IXIL Carbon Fiber Competition pipes for my both of my '03 R1s for track and street ready.

Ixil = not even close to D & D sound wise. Just my two cents. I can't compare it to any others besides a Yoshimura(little quieter than Ixil) and an Erion(not far from D & D loud) on a Honda.

No not kinda quiet just that they don't compare to D & D or erion. I haven't even heard the ixil high mount only the undertail. I do like the sound and I do like the looks. If your going to spend the money get the undertail :thumbup Its a real eyecatcher just be ready to get rid of that hugger and stiffen the rear shock

Nice ride you got there. How do they sound? The one I am getting suppose to be competition can. I hope it will not sound quiet. I ordered them thru indisuperbike.com over a week ago and they still not here yet. :(

Just got my IXIL Hi-Mount Carbon Exhaust Slip-On for my '03 R1 and had just finished installing it. Looks like it is preety decent quality. After test ride, besides the pipe has minor rub on the swing arm while there is no weigh on the bike, seems like it lost some power in low and mid range. Maybe I need to tuned it with a PCIIIR and custom map. Anyone got any idea?

Thats funny my undertail felt like it had a little quicker throttle responce then my yosh slip-on..... I almost looped it the first time I got on it after getting the pipe on. I don't do wheelies so that scared the sheet outta me. Even my best friend(we trade bikes all the time) said it felt like it had a little more. Go figure, I thought for sure it would have hurt it a bit(hp). Scew it tho I'm not in it for HP anyways I don't think theres anyway I could ever push the 1 and I don't think there are alot of people can.
