very nice work and someone said you couldn't weld looks pretty damn impressive to me don't ask how my self-lessons on mig welding have been the past few days (alright, there's plenty of catepillars on all of my sheet metal)

Stupid question but is the Swing-arm Aluminum and what about the Strenth of the swing-arm compared to the stock one (as far as Flexing).? Brooke

Greg dude you are killing me here.....man those are sweet as hell...(not that I can afford it but).....what kind of price range? What spindle and stuff you set them up for....Ducati? and what is the chance you would make a tubular dual sided swingarm...so I can keep my stock stuff but have a trick looking piece....

Magnus
04-10-2003, 08:12 AM
GREG, some questions about the SSSarm.... Which hub setup do you recommend for your arms ? Which wheel do you recommend ? ...And is it possible to have the open spaces between the tubes filled in to make a box section arm ? How much for the arm, and where can I get the hub and wheel set-up from ?

Magnus

Can you or someone post a CLOSE-UP of the one on your bike ??

Hi All, I am making these for customers. The price is $1500 for the bare arm. $1600 for powdercoated and $2000 for chromed. They are made of Aircraft 4130 chromoly. They are very strong! I do make them to accomodate the Ducati rear drive setup. I can supply that as well as the rear wheel if you desire. They are a direct bolt on to the R1's and they use the stock swingarm bearings and all that. I think I answered all the questions. Let me know if you have more.

Hey Gregg, Can this swingarm be fitted onto other bikes, besides the ONE or a Ducati?

Gregg's Customs
04-10-2003, 10:06 AM
Any wheel for the Ducati's with the single sided swingarms will work. I can include a wheel, 3 or 5 spoke, or you can get that yourself. Here's a pic of a total package that I'm shipping to a customer. These wheels are 5 spoke Marchesini's that I chromed. I made some adaptors for the front wheel so it will bolt right on to the R1 and it will accept the R1 rotors. Rotor adaptors are not shown.

How much for the exact exhaust you have? (no chromed, but maybe powdercoated black or something)

VPREATR

Gregg's Customs: The one thing I regret is my SSSARM requires a specific rear hub offset; so I'm not able to use standard rear Ducati rims or replacement parts like yours. It would be nice to have a few spares. :) The only portion I use that is Ducati is the spindle itself. As for the exhaust, the Turbo kit will leave a traditional outlet, the only reason why I didn't go undertail in the first place was concern for lost power; with the turbo I have little fear of that. :) Thanks!

THE MUFFIN MAN: Early Ducati Tri-spoke vintage. (i.e. 748, 916, 996). It appears the owner didn't spend the money on adapters for the matching front wheel. :) If I recall the Tri-spoke is a 5.5" width wheel. Thanks!

The 5.5" rear will fit a 190/50 right ?? GREGG !!!! Will the rear drive assembly include a rotor and caliper ?? Would I have to upgrade my chain ?? How much would a three spoke wheel cost powdercoated black ? I'm going to email you these questions directly to you also.

Gregg's Customs: I’d be happy to install one of your SSSARM models on my track bike (Silver R1) and then report back with my full review in comparison to my other installed SSSARM. It may take months and months (or years) of review, although I’d be happy to offer my services; it’s the least I can do. :D :p Thanks!

most of the Daytonas and Speed Triples have SSSAs. Except for 2002 but 1997-2001 and 2003-> have SSSAs. That is off a Triumph. XT777...Triumph nut.

Hey!!!!! That's my old Blue 2000 R1. I had the Harris Single sided swingarm on it. It had full Ohlins when I owned it but I took it off and sold it separately. I used the Triumph rear drive with the Triumph wheel chromed. It is 6 inches wide. The Ducati wheels are 5.5" wide. That was a good bike. I wish I still had it.

Guys any SSS you get form Gregg is well worth the money. I just wish the rest of my bike was as strong as his swing arms. I got my own wheels and you can save money there if your smart and take your time on Ebay. His prices are still great and whoever does the PC work is grade A. So I wouldn't spend your money anywhere else save its worth it for the looks and tire changes are a snap now also so 2 for points Gregg. Hes done 2 of my bikes and a third is on the way he is doing a frame for the 3rd can't wait. I will post pics of all 3 once I get them all done even though one might be on my profile not sure , then Im going to talk to Gregg about doing a bike with a front SSS. hmmm

I got one of those. I love it. works just like stock even at 175+. but how do I keep the chain from rubbing on the bottom of the swingarm w/o over tightening?
