minchan 04-12-2003, 09:56 AM Ok.. what's your favorite local dealership.? :fact
So far, my favorite is 'Eastside motorsports' in Bellevue. Friendly people, right prices if not cheaper. :makeout
Couple dealerships I would never go back.. 1) University Honda in downtown, 2) Lynnwood Yamaha on Aurora Ave.
They will rip your ass off till you don't have an ass anymore.. :butt and their service dept are full of stupid mechanics who are just happy to use your bike for their learning material, imo.. :cryin
Any other places i should check out.? Is it just me or is it that hard to find one good dealership you can just simply 'trust'. :(
tidbit 04-12-2003, 10:00 AM Eastside is very cool...
roninr1c 04-12-2003, 10:02 AM Hanover Honda/Yamaha...in RT46 Hanover, NJ.
I bought my last 2 bikes from there...great folks.
02R1Phreak 04-12-2003, 10:02 AM My Fav is Yamaha Sports Plaza in Federal Way , Then Eastside.... got personal friends that work at both but more friends at Sports Plaza.... bought all my bikes from there.
adamgeek 04-12-2003, 10:16 AM lol, i'm probly gonna get flamed for this, but eastside ain't my favorite..
1: i just bought 4 quarts of non-synthetic oil and a filter there. total price? $50. gee, when i bought my bike i purchased 4 quarts and a filter from cycle barn and it was $22. guess bellevue is special :p
2: their parts guys are kinda... STUPID. i called up in december, to order plugs for my brothers Suzuki TL-1000R.. the guy looked up the plugs.. took him like 10 mins, told me i should buy iridium blah blah yea i know.. okay.. "so the total for 4 plugs comes to $87.22" me - "4??!" him - "yea four." me - "uh.. vtwin, dude." him - "oh.. uh.. two?" ****.
if i continued with this list of greviances i am sure i could get to number 10 on the list. my issues with them also include major problems, like their parts guys selling my brother a 520 rear sprocket for his 530 chain and 530 countershaft sprocket.. possible honest mistake i guess, and then their service department installing it and not even catching the problem.. i found out about it a month later when i had to pick my bro up after the chain had stripped like10 teeth off the sprocket. maybe i've just had bad experiences with them.
carter in the parts dept. is a pretty nice guy, and jeremy in parts is pretty nice too, so i dunno. they pricing for bikes is higher than you can find elsewhere too.
for buying the cheapest bikes, can't beat cyclebarn lynnwood/arlington. i paid $9900 OUT THE DOOR (tax, license, etc). i haven't found anyone in WA yet whose paid less for a new silver R1 hehe.
personally, for parts, i like using the internet. i-90 motorsports or eastside will work in a pinch, but don't internet type price deals hehe. although, on my 99, i-90 sold me a full Ti AKRA exhaust for $1080 including tax.. which is like $400 under MSRP. they only gave me that deal tho because they screwed up the micron exhaust they were supposed ot sell me and i was pissed.

I would have to disagree with you some what. Although, they are very friendly, they do not really push the 'sport bike' market. Every time I go in for a part they never have it. The do not really carry much aftermarket parts, clothing and other gear for sport bike riders. They are more of a dirt/motocross dealer. Thats why you see 10x the amount of dirt bikes than street bikes there.

dude, it's federal way.. people need to buy offroad vehicles so they can ride up to check on their hidden methlabs, c'mon. :D:D
02R1Phreak 04-12-2003, 10:37 AM LMAO! Yea Jason i agree there.... but i get MADD hookups there.... and i can always wait a little for parts... thats no big deal to me.
RicOShea 04-12-2003, 11:56 AM I have to say internet parts are the way to go.
If I have to get something really quick I slide over to University Yamaha, but they are REALLY expensive. There repair is really expensive too.
I bought my R1 from I-90 and the guys gave me a great quote over the phone and didn't try to dink around when I got out there. I had to wait awhile, because they were busy, but I have always found their service to be very friendly.
I would buy all my quick parts from there if it wasn't so darn convenient to go to University.
KillaR1 04-12-2003, 09:50 PM Randy is the man over at Federal Way.. he's way nice. and works with ya.. goes the extra mile
Eastside Motorsports is cool. Downtown Ducati. Neither are particularly cheap, but they're decent people. Serive/Acccesories: Seattle Cycle Center ROCKS. Renton Motorcycleworks is good, George's Service (formerly of Seattle Cycle Center) really knows his shiznit and has been doing it for a grip of years.
BWH2003 04-12-2003, 09:56 PM I go to Fort Wayne Yamaha in Fort Wayne Indiana. They have great prices and their service manager is one of the best. He has the highest rating of any mechanic around. (He has a 98% when the national average is 85%) He is great to work with always has an answer for every question.
Thanks
Bryan
RicOShea 04-13-2003, 12:07 AM I have to agree with No_6 if you are looking for accessories, Seattle Cycle Center does rock...their prices are very reasonable and the service is very friendly.
I will say.... "F" Tacoma Motorsports and "F" Rainier Yamaha. And more specifically "BRIAN" ( I know his last name but won't post it) at Rainier Yamaha !!!
ASSHOLES... And a ASSHOLE shout out goes to the Sales Manager at Tacoma Motor Sports "PAUL" !!!!!!!!
They both can eat a bowl of dicks !!

R1_CR 04-17-2003, 11:21 PM I've found good parts deals at ParkerYamaha.com. I think the girls at the Eastside Motosports are hot!

osofastr1 04-19-2003, 11:31 AM I agree w/ KILLA, Randy is cool and always gives me the hook up, however FED WAY YAMAHA does lack aftermarket, which is why I buy most of my stuff from Jason @ McCoys Motorsports
