You can ride whatever whenever with whatever insurance you want. I know, you have to be congenial with mom and dad and their probably going to help out on college but they have to realize your not a kid anymore and to give you a little lattitude. The Untouchable story: Got my first bike at 16...rode it around for 2 months. Bought a used R6 for $6000. Went to get insurance, and they quoted me at $3500 per year. I was already dead broke and in debt to my rents after selling all my stock to get the bike. I did a few trackdays on it, and wrecked hard. The upper, tail, clipons, were broken, the frame was bent and dinged (shoulda got sliders) and the engine parts were damaged and at the time, I didn't know how to fix a bike...I sold it for $3500. That $3500 has gone into insurance and I've been riding my piece of shit Honda since, and I've already rebuilt it twice (this being the second time). That's why I have all this sportbike gear and no sportbike. So yeah, I've been bluffing...bring on the flames...it's a forum, so i don't really care...but soon I'll have an FZR and will be able to go fast again. The end...I've got my flame retardant suit on now guys! I do have a pic of the bike when I got it, but it's not exactly the way i have described it previously. As you can see, duct tape is holding the upper together, moisture got in the headlight, and the clipon is bent pretty bad. On the other side, the mid is held on by duct tape and one tab, and there is a hole in the upper. Shit happens.

good now it's behind us... now buy that damn fizzer and I'll help you with the tail install :fact :D

all i got to say is :( you dont have to lie to kick it here bud...... as long as you are on 2 wheels you are coo with me..... and btw.... why FZR! get another r6.........

I still cant afford insurance on the R6...fizzer is 600 a year for good coverage...after over a year of riding they STILL want me to pay $3500 with the "good driver discount" and the "multi bike discount" and the "good student discoutn"

Can't you work the bike into your parents insurance?... I'm pretty sure they'll insure the bike if your dad was the primary driver.. and you the second.. Thats what I did as of 2 years ago :fact

as soon as I sell the CB. And get some cash...I lost my job a while back at Good Year because they wanted me to be 18 but hired me out of the auto tech program..so I am forced to go to target. I'm broke right now...Don can attest to the horrendous amount of financial independence my parents have put on me. I buy my own food and clothes...have been since I turned 12. The CB is going for $1500 and I need another $2000 after that, and I have a few hundred right now. I've put more in stock but I'm not going to sell it to get a bike...turned out to be a mistake last time. In fact...the last 2 times...I had some intertel that I got at 8 years back, and I sold at 6 to get a mountain bike. It went up to 50 2 years later. Shoulda kept it. Anyway, I'll save up a bit and go for it...and I have a plan to just not pay insurance...I'll get bitched at every day...but hell, I already do. Now who wants to help me adjust the valves on my bike!

You haven't even seen the tail! subframe was twisted about 30 degrees :cryin and my yosh exhaust was bashed in...live and learn...always wear full gear.

So if you wanna come over tomorrow and see if you can help with these valves that would :rock It looks like I need a tiny crowfoot wrench but I don't see how it would work. also need a .05mm feeler gauge. If I had a digi cam i'd take pics...but looking down, there is a lock nut that you have to hold while you use a standard driver to adjust clearance...not much room to work so i think a crowfoot is needed.

maybe tomorrow... i'd have to see how much programming i finish tonight tho :fact
