maryland riders

I am trying to reach any r1 riders in the Maryland area, mostly greater baltimore or metro d.c. area. Does anyone want to get some miles in on saturday?

Dude, I would love to, but I don't live in Maryland anymore, . I grew up in Columbia. Also I don't have a bike. I don't think I should get an R1 for my first bike, but rather I think I should get a 600 series. What do you think? I also have a friend that has a GSX-R750 that i might get him to sell me for like 5k or 5.5k. -a '98. What do you think? And What do you think is the best 600 if i was to get one? How long have you been riding? How long and what bike did you start on? and how long before you got an R1? And where do you live in maryland. I love those roads back there. some really cool country roads and the highways like 695 look way fun. I just wish I had a bike. Parents just wouldnt let me have one for normal parents reasons. -SpeedFreak :rock

I have been riding for years, but brought my first about 5 years ago. I've owned TL-Rs, and ZX9Rs before brought my R1. I live in P.G. county. As compared to other bikes the looks, power, handling, etc in my opinion is the best overall bike.

I love to ride tomorrow if the whether is good. Where are you planning on riding to.

Im in Maryland, and im up for riding ANYTIME. If you dont get this by saturday. We can ride Sunday. What do you say to a ride to the skyline drive.. Or west virginia. I dont really like riding around PG county, or around Washington D.C. First day i had a bike, on my way to D.C. A driver rammed me from behind while i was sitting at a red light waiting for it to change. I like to stay away from D.C. , unless there is something intersting happening. Ricardo

I don't think I'll have time to take a ride that far, i have to go to work at 100pm. I was planning to cruise up to lockraven and onto dulany valley rd.

ricardo, I bought my in VA. Eventhough Ellicott Motor is like 5 mins from my house, they would not give me a break.

Aiight!!! Just need a when and where to meet. Oh, but I did ride about 350 miles this past weekend. 210 miles on Saturday with all miles in MD. Met some new riders, some not my flavor :iamwithst and some were pretty good,:cool: All in all had a good time riding and meeting folks and we stopped at a few barbeques to fill the belly along the way.

I passed it on my way to skyline and it looked like something was going on there.

Yeah, they had a cookout and a few clubs were there as well. I got there at the tail end of things but hey free burgers and sodas!!! From there we met up with a few other riders and then rode to Harbor, etc.

If the weather holds out a few of us will ride to B&N tonight... You are welcome to ride if you like.

Hey guys. Just picked up an 04 R1 last weekend and always looking for things going on. A buddy of mine with an 02 GSXR1000 went riding with me last Sunday morning (rain and everything). I live in Glen Burnie, he lives in Catonsville/Arbutus area. If anyone is getting together on any particular weekend to go riding post up or send me a PM or email if you don't mind a couple extra riders. We're thinking of hitting Pocono on July 16 for the trackday there - it would be the first time for both of us. If anyone has been or is interested in attending, let me know that too - and any advice you might have for us. We're both experienced street riders but neither of us have been on a racetrack before. -joey

FYI... Every Sunday Red Eye Dock Bar has a bikini & wet-T contest every Sunday till about 5:30. Live Band also. I rode out there the past weekend.. It is on the water just over the key bridge. Plan to ride out this week as well and may check out Sat night as well. Let me know if you are interested.

you have any more information on that event? I'm in PG Country. Route 295 coming into downtown Baltimore has got to be the bumpiest damn road in the western hemisphere. I felt like I was on a dirtbike.

Im going to go check it out, the weather is supposed to be perfect also. NSDQ, if you want to go downtown without coming in off of 295(which does suck), take 95 towards the tunnel, then take 395 downtown....this will bring you right on the back side of the stadiums. You will be able to find it from there, and its far less bumpy of a ride.....probably quicker as well.
