How do you take the "yzf" off of the side fairing on a 02 R1. It doesn't look like a sticker. Do I have the take the entire sticker off with the white part to?

I tried that 3m stuff and it SUCKS! I tried windex, soap and water etc. Maybe I should use a scraper. HATEKILLDESTROY 04-28-2003, 06:49 PM Try M.E.K. Great adheaive removal. I make labels for a living so I'm dealing with adheaisve all day long. MEK. stands for Methol Ethol Keton. You can find it in any hardware store in the paint section. boatramp 04-29-2003, 09:26 PM i took mine off used lighter fluid at first then sprayed brake clean on a rag and whipped it real fast came right off.be sure to wax it after you do this. later tim Ronin R1 04-29-2003, 10:35 PM Goof Off! or soak it in WD-40 and lots of buffing. RATED_XXX 04-29-2003, 10:50 PM I just took off all the stickers on my Silver 02. I used a heat gun at low heat (or a hair dryer should work). Heated the stickers up just enough that they will pull away. If you get the right heat on them they will leave minimal adhesive behind.
And like Ronin R1 said, I just used WD-40 while the plastic was still a little warm and it takes it right off. I just used a rag or paper towel. Just have to do a little spot and then change spots in the rag or towel. It gums up pretty quick but will remove all adhesive.
I then sprayed her down with Meguiar's Quick Detailer in a bottle to remove the WD-40.
Just remember not to get a heat gun too hot and close. The worst sticker was the R1 on the front fairing by the headlight. Eyespy 04-30-2003, 07:47 AM Originally posted by LeMarc

Which 3M stuff? Was it the 3M Adhesive, Tar, and Wax Remover? It worked great for me, I use it quite a bit. LeMarc 04-30-2003, 01:10 PM The 3m adhesive remover should work well on my 02 R1 but my 99 gixxer, those stickers seem to have been put on with contact cement. I can almost take the R1 stickers off with my bare hands and patience. Any suggestions for the gixxer stickers? Silver Shark 04-30-2003, 11:57 PM The (cough) Honda (cough) dealer in a can polish works well. Saturate the sticker and let it set for about 20 minutes. Wipes off nicely with very little effort. O2LiquidSilverR 04-30-2003, 11:59 PM achaol rubbing pads work well mac_burna 05-02-2003, 06:59 AM if you don't have a heat gun, use a hairdryer, it worked for me. lsvtec 05-12-2003, 09:11 PM Originally posted by LeMarc

I use goo-off or adhesive remover. Spray on, leave for a few seconds and wipe right off. Make sure you wax it after. :rock motox666 04-27-2009, 01:55 AM goof off yeh....what about taking the stickers that are clearcoated on the tank how do you go about that? | |
