New 03 R1 Vibrates

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I have a brand new R1. I've noticed that it vibrates quite noticeably. Have anyone experience this? I have about 400 miles on the bike. It vibrates at idle and also when cruising. Is this normal? Thanks.

they all vibrate. if this is your first bike it will be hard to help you as you don't have any reference about which you can judge the amount of vibration. the vibration should cycle from more to less as you go through the RPM range. The vibration should never be severe, however, with no reference point you can not accurately judge the severity. you need a rider near you to help you. I would not use the dealer. I would not be that concerned.

My previous bike was an '00 748. I also ridden my friends 02 CBR 600 and 02 GSXR 750. There seem to be more vibration on the R1. I haven't ridden any other R1s or R6s to really know if this was a norm for the Yamahas. Thanks for the info.

If you are talking about vibes in the 4000-6000 rpm range ,and numb fingers, ya I think they all do that. PM member Earache, he just put together a group buy for some stainless steel bar ends, much bigger and heavier than stock. Vibes almost all gone now:D
