We Should All Meet

Hey PeopleZ, I was thinking maybe it's a good idea that we (S.cali people and anyone else that would like to come down) meet one of these days. We can talk about the Squadron and also to see if we can coordinate the Vegas convention and go as a Squadron. I know some of you meet on Wednesday nights at the bike night in the valley, but I also know that some of you like me can not make it during the weekday and it will be easier to meet during the weekend. So if we can set up a day during the weekend, Saturday or Sunday and meet during the day, we can all get acquainted and also talk about Squadron business such as patches, stickers, Vegas, etc. We can meet somewhere central so everyone can make it. What do you guys think? If you think it’s a good idea, please also mention the weekend that is best for you and a central location to meet and we will go with the majority on this. Suggestions??

I think that on a weekend would be a great idea, but please not on the 17th or 18th of May-gotta work(Marines). But yes it would be nice to meet and discuss some things and to join up for Vegas is cool to.

I am down for May 24th or 25th- its enough notice to plan a meeting. I am up here near Palmdale/Lancaster area, we could all meet up on Bouqet Canyon, there is a Bar/Eatery half way through(boxing ring out front).

Sounds like it might be a cool event to show up at. I'm in southern Orange County...but am willing to take a ride....

Just out of curiousity...where the heck is Bouqet Canyon???? Where is it near (major city)? I'm down in Orange County, CA and never heard of it. Hehehhee...

I'd go if I could. Within the vicinity of S.D and L.A county only. if someone can hook me up job wise. lol. okay. it's getting annoying seeing me ask so much about it.. but it's real important.

Bouqet Canyon is near Palmdale, just North of LA. If interested we can all meet up in Palmdale some where and ride in there together. Its really a nice road.

I think Palmdale would be too far for some of the LA and Orange County members. I used to live there and from San Fernando Valley, it's about 40 mins. From Orange County, it would be longer. The dates sound good to me but you might want to rethink the location.

Oh yaaaa...it's waaaayyyy up there. I took a ride with one of the clubs before up to LACR in Palmdale from where I'm at in Orange County and it was like 100 miles each way just to get there...it was WAAAAY up there. That's the only problem. By the time you get up there you feel like your neck is going to break off from the sitting position on the freeway. :(

Cool...I'll let ya know because I'm in Mission Viejo...just down the street. :hellobye I have to see what's going on with my bike yet though. I might have to go see the guy that is supposed to pay for the repairs after he screwed it up with his crash. I'll let ya know though...

How come more people don't get involved in this? We cover one of the largest areas compare to other squadrons and they have more members participating. :no

Well then lets pick a place more suited for everyone, anyone have a better place?

How about Norco? It is right on the 15 and 91. The SD guys can just come up the 15 and LA guys can take the 10, 60, or 91; whichever is closer. And it about splits the distance for everyone. Us South OC guys will be *cough* forced to take Orgtega over to Lake Elsinore and then up the 15;) . Just trying to get a good middle ground, If we can all get there early enough there are a lot of options for riding from there. Depends how long you want to be out. But I say yes, let's do this.

Not bad... Ya, us South OC guys/gals can either take Ortega over, or the 91. Only bad thing is 91 will be packed, but still...it's closer and pretty much central to everyone. I could deal with that. I can just shoot over to the 91 and take that over to the 15. :D Just like goin' to Vegas! :rock

25th sounds good, and traffic on the 91 won't be too bad on Sunday morning. Who else will be there?

I'd love to go, but that's Memorial Day weekend. I'll be out of town. Maybe next time.

On the B-2 program, and sorry that's all i can tell you :cool: !!! I also have parents and family that live in Quartz Hill. Wouldn't mind meeting some of you fellow, would be nice to be able to ride with fellow R1-ers! Just not this weekend, going to Vegas for a bachelor party.

Ooops, didn't realize it was a Sunday...ya, I'm sure that there wouldn't be much traffic on the 91 on Sunday..but then again...this is California!!!!

What time does everyone think would be good? How much time do you all need for travel and other things like that? I would say about 9 or 10 am but I always get up early anyhow. Depending on the time we could meet for breakfast at denny's or something.

Did we decide on the 25th? NORCO smells like shit, I ain't going there, It's bad enough passing through. anywhere near SB or corona would be central for SoCal!

It will take me almost 2 hours to get there....10 would be cool wherever you all decide to meet. Just give good directions and I will be there.

10 am on 5/25 sounds good to me. I'm in unless it's raining. Just be sure to post the actual meet spot with directions for everyone. :) :rock

I rode through Norco ONCE. All I can say is keep your faceshield down on the 15. You may even want to tuck. Otherwise you'll be covered in bugs (due to the livestock in the area). =)

allright baby i'm back!!! so when and where are we doing this? i'll be at bike night next week and i say we get all the forum guys out there and have a quick meeting, BRBjackson, and all the others that were getting involved in the sticker and patch making thing, if you guys can show up on wed night, it'd be great, as far as i know, with a minimum order of 100, i can get patches for about 3.50 each, so if about 20 of us, want 5 patches each, we should be on our way... someone start a list of how many patches and stickers you guys want, or better yet, start a new thread

Just a suggestion but here is what I did for ALL Minnesota riders - I put together a "Buddy List" in MS Excel format for all interested parties, and for everyone that contributed I sent a list to them. I would get the following information and input it into a spreadsheet: 1. Name - last, first 2. Preferred phone # to be contacted at (i.e. home/cell) 3. City/Town the person lives in 4. Type of bike they own (i.e. year, color, make) 5. Alias(es) that they use on the forum and AOL Instant Messenger or ICQ. 6. Email address You would be surprised how you or I associate a certain color or style of their bike to a name/face/alias. It helps to remember who you are speaking with. Also, knowing a general area or more specifically what town make it's easier to coordinate rides for everyone. You can pick out a central spot for everyone to meet up. Email address is important and I usually have a field setup with everyone's email address seperated by a comma so I can copy/paste into a mass email to everyone. It's also helpful if people respond using "reply to all/everyone" when they reply back. That way people have an idea of what other people are interested in doing or where to meet. Just some food for thought. I have a buddy list of about 14 people and it makes it a heck of alot easier knowing this information to coordinate a group ride. Good luck.

We'll meet at 10:00 AM at the Denny's on Hamner in Norco on May 25th. If you need directions check MapQuest.com (CLICK) (http://www.mapquest.com) to get door to door directions. Also I would suggest getting off on Hidden Valley because I don't think you can turn left into the parking lot If I remember right (big IF). Hope to see ya'll there.

Oooops... I just realized there might be a reason for the low response. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. A lot of people might be gone. I was supposed to go up to Vegas for the weekend. I might hold off cuz I believe I'm going up for the Convention on the 13th of June...but we'll see what goes. So far I'm still in for Sunday.

Hmmm... I guess I could join you guys on Sunday. But where do you think we'll be riding? Not that I care, I often do 300 mile days during the summer, just curious where we're going and if we'll have enough fun to make it worth my while ;)
