The stock turn signals are attached to the stock "Mudflap". Just disconnect the wires, unbolt the fender and remove the whole assembly. To disconnect the wires you have to pop of the small black plastic fasteners on both side of the undertail and drop it. If you are planning to mount the short stalk signals you will need some sort of fender eliminator to mount them to. If you are talking about the flush mount type you just drill a hole and mount them anywhere you like. You can mount the stock turn signal to the Graves fender eliminator kit. Several other kits are available that will accept the short stalk signal. You can also make one for yourself very easily and cheap.

I'm talking about the front turn signals, not the rear. I just had the whole fairing off and its not gonna work, I'm just going to order greggs flushmounts.

They'll come off. The assembly is similar to the rear blinkers being that you must first pop the rubber piece off from the inside first. After they are unplugged, they should pop right out!

After you remove the fairing (easiest way to do it) the stock turn signals are secured by an oval piece of black plastic that is secured to the fariing by two pieces of rubber that come off the top and bottom of the turn signals. If you lift the rubber pieces up and pull the plastic piece off you can simply pull the stock signal off after disconnecting the two wire harness. Greggs are the best looking and the easiest to install. I initially attempted to install a pair of LP's but gave up after seeing that they would look cheap and I would have to drill a hole... Screw that noise !!! Good Luck :D

At first I was trying to get them off without removing the fairing, but I had to. Anyways I couldn't figure out a way to mount the short stalks so im just gonna order greggs.

You will be very happy with the Greggs flushies. They are really really nice and he stands behind his work 100%. Just so you know, when they light up they are a bit orange more than yellow. Took a little getting use to for me !! http://members.core.com/~krydz/Pictures/R1/Front%20Marker%20Lamps.JPG

I dont get how the wires come out of the rear fender? I had it unbolted(the four bolts) but i could not figure how to get the wires apart. I didnt have the balls to yank on them from the bottomside of the bike. Do you have to remove the plastic tray under the seat(where the tool kit is)? Dave

Dave they are connected on the left hand side of the tail. Take off the tail fairing, and you will see they snake up through the tray and over to the left side and are easily unplugged. Good luck!

How hard is it to remove the tail fairing? Is it obvious, or are the bolts/screws tricky? Dave

It's actually pretty easy. You have two metal screws under the pillion seat, two plastic screws under the rider's seat and 4 pop screws (I think that's what they are called) under the tail. The 4 pop screws are the hard ones because you have to reach in from the top to pop them out but the skinnier hands you have, the better off you are. Hope this helps. -Moto.

Can you go any further into detail about the location of the pop screws and how they "un pop?" Dave

Hmmm...this is the best pic I could find. If you look at the left side of the pic you'll see a black circular piece. There's one on the right hand side too but it's being covered by the exhaust hanger. The way you pop it out is by pulling straight down on the center piece. (should just "pop out"). I believe they have special tools to make it easy or you can go from the top (inside the body fairing) and push down on the center piece to pop the center out. It's hard to describe but hopefully this clarifies it a little. -Moto

You are attacking those "pop screws" from the wrong angle. If you look at the part of those on the outside, you'll see that there is a centre piece. You push that in with the tip of a philips head screwdriver and then they should just come right out. There isnt any need to push them out from the inside of the tail. THEN to re-install them, you push the middle section the OTHER way, so the little nipple is hanging out, then put them in place and pop the nipple back in flush. Hope this helps.

True Klink, you can use something to pop it out but I usually end up scratching those d@mn things doing it that way and figure why not just pop it from the inside. -Moto

Like Klink says, push the center of it up and it will release. then the whole thing will just about fall out.
