Hey guys I'm new to the forum and I've been reading alot of your threads. I recently bought a 03 R1 Liq-Silver but had it painted because every bike hangout I went to there were 3 or more silver R1 ones! Anyways my question is this I put a full Akro exhaust, Graves ram air box, and Graves velocity stacks and the bike dynoed at 148. hp however she ran fine for about a week now she is back firing so I have to put some type of fuel control but i'm stuck deciding between the TFI and the Pc3, please help!:jump

PCIIIr (r in case you need to retard timing later)
Look in the MODS section for an EFI mod. It's reported to stop backfiring. I have yet to do this mod.

I went with the Pc3, and I love it. I can say anything about the TFI but I really think I made the right choice!

I have the TFI on my bike. I have no complaints about it, but I've never had the opportunity to compare it to the PCIII-PCIIIR. Thing is with the TFI you can only richen up the fuel mixture, but on the PCIII you will have a greater amount of adjustability. I guess it really depends on how much you are willing to spend. With the PCIII you are looking at dyno time tuning for a custom map for your bike and altitude conditions etc. With the TFI you can keep it close to base settings and ajust it on your own without the need of a computer etc. You have the air box and other various mods that might need finer tuning and adjustability though. So the PCIII might be a better choice in your case.
