Hey Just curious how fast you've been on one wheel. With the R1 my record is 205km/h in 3rd gear. I'll practice going to 4th and I should reach a little higher speed. Turbo peeps.. you're cheating so you can't write here ;) j/k. But mention that you got turbo. Oh and on my old bike, a CBR900RR '93 I got up to 225km/h in 6th gear. HAHA

125 mph (201 kph) in 3rd gear. BTW, that is indicated speed.

120mph in 3rd on my R6, so far only 115mph in 2nd on my 02 R1, the throttle is so responsive I am a little bit scared to shift into 3rd, scared I might bring it over backwards

yeah. be careful shifting during high speed. it's easy to give too much throttle or just loose the bike and flip it. I'm kinda scared myself sometimes when I'm going fast and is about to click to next gear. On wednesday if the weather is ok = not windy I'll try braking my record on the R1 and shift to 4th gear. I just gotta find a long road with good pavement.

Trying to watch the speedo on the R1 is a little like trying to watch the wheels on a slot machine as they spin round; nevertheless I have seen 130's indicated in 4th gear on several occasions. My '02 R1 will easily go up in 3rd gear (unlike my former '00 R1) making it easier to get to 4th, because you don't have to worry about shifting it through 1st to 2nd to 3rd. -I'm sure you all know that indicated speed can be up to 15% faster than actual speed on the R1. Regardless, anything over 100 mph on 1 wheel is guaranteed to give your grandmother a heart attack. :thumbup

I had a 208kph Stand up in 3rd, had the video camera strapped to the tank. Got a bit of a shock when i watched it. Dosent seem that fast when u r doing a wheelie, I just guess that you are concentrating on not flipping the thing. Ciao:thumbup

It was not a real wheelie 'cos I am not the worlds best by any means but under hard accelaration, the clocks came up and hit my visor in third at 110MPH after changing lanes and hitting a cats eye (in road reflector)!!:D :iamwithst

Seen 137mph indicated when the front tire touched the ground. Thats the fastest so far. Finally did my first "balance" wheelie the other day. I was riding my roomates 02 F4I and I clutched it up in 2nd and wheelied it a bit before I got it balanced. I got it balanced at 92 mph. I went more than a 1/2 mile at 92mph. I was one happy white boy. Now I just need to learn to get it balanced quicker.:rock

Just hit 130 tonight on my 01!!!:rock Does anyone elses wobble side to side in 3rd?? I can run it to the red-line in second and it's rock solid. But when I pull 3rd it is smooth until 120-125 and then it starts shaking like hell. I haven't tried shifting to 4th yet, that is the next step. Be safe everyone!!!:thumbup

The reason it wobbles at that speed is cuz the aerodynamics/body of the bike is not made to be vertical @ 130mph. What's the slowest you've been in the highest gear? I've shifted from 1st to 4th gear and still being below 60mph.. but it's very tricky staying balanced.

the fastest I´ve gone is 250km/h (~155 mph) but beware of the tankslapper:eek: takes some time for the frontwheel to pick up speed.........

Fastest i've been is 240kph in 4th. Took the bike out last night for the first time since Ivans needles and 520 conversion. She pulls up in 4th without the clutch and came up in 5th with the clutch!! I tried 6th and lofted the front end for 100ft or so, once I find the sweet spot she should pull up in 6th! Best money I ever spent!

The shaking is also from the rear shock being overloaded. That's alot of weight on one wheel. Try adding a click of preload, and fiddle with your rebound and compression. It worked for me and for others. ;)

I assume we are all talking about proper wheelies, where you actually have the balance point & have wheelied it for a while. Not just a flick up at a certain speed?

Indicated 137 mph on touchdown. I cheated. I was chasing down some friends and crested a hill. I did hold it up for a little though, then it was scary

been in the low hundreds (115 or so) in third. got the wobble a few times, sometimes i was able to ride it out, sometimes scared and put it down (errrrtttt/smoke:) don't know if i want to yet but how do you shift them when standing? do you just let off for a split second and click it up or what. what is the benefit? so far, i am able to ride them real long in 2nd and 3rd. lately i have just been trying to work on steering her around little curves but i loose concentration sometimes and let the front down a little and find myself back on the throttle pulling it back up to balance making it almost impossible to steer the s.o.b. boy, that damper has saved my ass a few times already this year!:thumbup
