ive recently started getting into drag racing on my r-6.i have a micron high mount slip on and stage 1jets by dyno jet.when i first started i pulled some decent times for a beginer .at that time i just had the slip on with stock carbs.now since ive had the dyno jet ive had nothing but gas guzzling, flatlining,to rich,to lean, loss of power wear i need it,in other words i cant find the right combo of needle settings and jet sizes.you know what a beach it is to change these settings.and the peaple at dynojet seem to have all the worst ideas so far.last friday i was at san antonio speedway and couldnt even get the bike to go past 14000rpm giving me a sad 11.40 average at 123mph.so the quize here is what size jets should i use and where should i set my needle hight at:ugh

i just tryed some changes.im now runing jet size 40-42 rather than gas sucking 42-44 but the diference has been on the needles.befor i was running on 2nd notch now im on third.my power band is much higher in the rpms now and the bikes trying to come up at 10,000.i can hit redline again.it should put me at 11.00 in the 1/4.ill let you know after tomarow night in segean tx.if the 42-44s are on notch 3 its pulls even harder maby setting me under 11 sec.and the front climbs off the ground at 11000 rpm maby an inch or 2.but when needles are at 3 no matter what jets you have absolutly no mid or bottum range.one more thing if you run 44-42 main jets gas goes byby i get any where from 70 to 80 miles to the tank befor my reserve light comes on.if any one asks tell them to stick with a high compression slip on and keep the stock jets and needles.stay tuned in if any one wants some one else do the testing for you ill let yall know what happens thursday night

ok i had a short notice phone call.and found out aggie night was being held at navasota raceway (1/8 mile).a perfect opertunity to test the new settings. best time was 7.34 at 102 mph and stomped on every 600.i must give cootoes to a f4i that dude was good .those races where purly r-6 vs f4i.my buddy whos pro did that race.i ended up leaving befor i had a chance to run the f4i i think he could beat me (maby)any how im rambling.if any one gets a dyno jet stage 1 use one of these settings. use jet size 40 and 42 with needles set on third slot from top.for pur racing use 42 and 44 with needles set at 3 again.if you have any questions maby i can help.thanks for reading i hope i helped somone out there.
