Track Time in Calif. (Buttonwillow) 04-21-02

:rock I am having an "All Bike Track Day!" at Buttonwillow Raceway (near Bakersfield) and am looking for some R1 (and of course all other bike) owners, as it is always impressive to see a bunch of really bitchin' bikes of the same brand! My '99-R1 is good to go and since the weather is going to be absolutely gorgeous this Sunday April 21st, you all need to come out and get on the track. Buttonwillow is not a wimpy track, and is actually a pretty fun track to ride. It's a really safe track (in case you get off of it) with a good amount of run-off! To entice my R1 breathren (you guys) if you sign up in advance of our track days, as an R1 or R6 owner I'll give you an extra $50.00 off the sign up price! When you sign up "online" next to name put : (R-1, or R-6 owner) and that will alert me to give you the discount! Here are the dates we have at Buttonwillow Raceway! this is a great group of people! i rode with them over easter weekend at willow springs. if you have not ridden on a track, but are interested--this is the perfect group to ride with! i would go, but i have another commitment with the ducati club of beverly hills in may.... joe

Posted Thursday-April 18th Apparently, I wasn't clear, regarding the pricing for This Sunday's (April 21st) track day at Buttonwillow! It was my "intention" in trying to really connect with the R-1 community (of which I am now one of!) even though I represent Club Desmo (a Ducati Club) we are not exclusionist! I own many brands of bikes (2)Honda's-(2)Yamaha's-(2)Ducati's myself, so I can't say anything bad about any brand of motorcycle! Anyway, I really wanted to underscore my intention is to "introduce" you guys & gals, to us "Club Desmo" and inform you that we are really an "All Brands" club, that promotes MC track days, and that we are very friendly (we think) we run a good track day & provide a very fun & supportive atmosphere! We don't have attitudes, and are not predjudiced, you just have to have a smile, a bike, a sense of respect for others, and an ability to allow someone faster than you the space pass you, or you allow enough space when you are doing the passing! It's that Simple! Now to my main point: I was trying to give everyone here (on the R-1 Forum) a chance to come out & play with us on the track for this and future events and for this Sunday's track date (since we are already inside the advanced price window) I should have just said : "For all R-1 owners the price will be $140.00 that's $50.00 off the 31 day advance price." So at this point if you send us an e-mail, or register (by Friday Midnite) we can put you on our list so when you arrive to the track your "check in" experience will be slightly smoother! Remember to write (R-1 Forum) next to your name on the "online registration form" and you will get the $50.00 Discount Send us an email to mark@clubdesmo.com and we will put you on the registered list, and the worst case scenario, we can handle it at the track! We will also have "full" tire service (we will have a limited number of new tires available) but we can always mount & balance any tire that you bring!
