I agree..I'm totally surprised that no one wants to meet up. I mean WTF? But yet I think there are close to 100 names already signed up for the R1 Convention in Vegas and I know there was a crapload of names from SoCal on there.

Just shocks me. Really does. Well, if this ends up still going through, I'll be there. I still think it would be cool to meet a few new R1 friends...even if everyone else doesn't want to participate.

You can count on me being at Denny's for sure, I'm for a ride and meeting some fellow R1 buddy's.
I have already booked a room for the convention next month(two queen beds). We can talk about maybe riding up their together. I will be hauling my bike in my truck. Only room for my bike but I can haul gear if anybody needs.

That would be great. I really wanted to haul my bike up there instead of riding it but as of right now, it looks like I am riding it. But if you couldn go with us and take some gear, it would be a lot less strain on the back for 4 hours.

We still have no more than 5 people planning on meeting up on the 25th? Dang...no wonder why the other squadrons are ahead of us on stuff. I'm surprised no one wants to meet.

There are tons of people on this board in general and even my club board we only have about 120 people or so but we seem to get a bunch that hang out at least once a week. On average we have about 10-14 bikes that go out for bike nights or what have you.

I'm just surprised with the ton of people we have in Dragon Squadron that no one wants to meet except 5 people...hmmm...not good. :(

I think we are all just lazier here, not willing to go the extra miles (literally). I have PM'd or called several people to ride on weekends and I still end up going out on my own since most of the guys I know are more into the stuntin.:(

I have recieved few emails with people's information, but again I am very suprised that we are getting such low response. I don't know what to say really. I thought I would get much better response then what I got, but who cares. We'll do our thing. I am looking forward to meeting you all on the 25th and hopefully we can set something up for riding to vegas together. I think it will be fun.

I agree as well. I'm still up for the 25th...even if just a couple of other guys (Ronin R1 & Rezar1, most likely) go out. The whole point of riding the bike is to ride... so not wanting to go the extra miles? Hehehe...seems kind of odd when the whole point is to put miles on the bike for fun. :confused:

Maybe it's just me I guess. I'm not a stunter and most likely will never be one. I just don't see the point in increasing your chances of crashing a $12,000 bike. Hehehehe... That doesn't mean I knock people that stunt, hey, enjoy it and have at it...but when I ride, I just go to ride and enjoy cruising around and having fun...

Anyway...well, I'll see who ever is going on the 25th. Cya there...

you guys all suck!!! lol you live in socal soooooo far away! I would love to ride with you guys. but to ride down after work on a friday night for like 7 hours or so so say and ride back for work on monday - damn my neck would be sore. yeah I don't stunt ride either not that the front wheel doesn't just go flying in the air sometimes. I just like the twisties and some cool sceenery. yeah everyone on here is lazy and no one seems to be from the bay area, yet r1's are all over the streets here. I have one r1 buddy that I work with but he is way to lazy for the internet, always bugs to ride -not that its a bug - but I had to sign him up for this forum that he showed me. and if he can't find the part at the bike shop sends me off to order it for him on the net. but is way cool and helps make me money, so I have no probs with that. maybe this summer I'll be up for a long hual ride. until then guys -- ride safe

What do you guys think about doing the meet next to see if we can get more people to show since this is a Holiday weekend and they might have other plans, Just a suggestion?

I was wondering the same. However, it would suck if we did delay it and then no one showed up then either. Hehehe..

I might be having family come to visit, but I still don't know yet. I probably won't know until Saturday. My guess is they won't be able to come and that I'd be there this Sun to meet you guys, but I won't know for sure until Sat sometime.

However, what do you think? No one really posted anything like "I can't make it this weekend because I'll be gone" or anything like that though. That tends to make me believe that this was the only response we were/are going to get. :(

Denny's in NorCo. I believe it's a few posts up. I know that I even provided a link to Mapquest with the actual address of the location. Should be somewhere in this post...if not, then it should be under the post "We should all meet" that is in the Dragon Squadron forum.

So what do you guys think, I have to ride up 70 miles to get there, I don't want to come all the way out there and be the only one there. So I really need to know how whos gonna show up for sure.

Dang 70 miles? I thought you were close to there? I guess it might be about 30-40 for me too..who knows.

I want to say I'll be there for sure, but I'm still in doubt if family is showing for the weekend. However, honestly, I don't think they'll make it...so it would be about 90% sure that I'm there.

Today turned out very well. It took me all of 2 hours to get there but was worth meeting everyone. I put alot of miles on the bike and my body feels it. I even got a little sun on the head today..ouch!

Well we met at Denny's as planned. mxracer95 and GNYHUF were there when I arrived. We waited in the lot for a while then went in to get something to eat. rezar1 showed up a little later and then the San Diego crew finally rolled in, hyfi and 4 newbs (not neccessarily new to riding just the squadron).
We decided to hit Ortega for a little fun, stopped at the Lookout and snapped a few pics. We then stopped at San Juan Capistrano to split off. The SD guys went back south, the rest of us decided to hit up the Rock Store. rezar1 split off to go home before we got there since he lives in the area. It was a nice ride up to the Rock Store. We didn't stay too long since GNYHUF still had a long way to go to get home and I had to get back to Norco to have my birthday dinner at my In-Law's.
All in all it looks like we have a pretty good spread in riding ability / experience and age. We are starting to solidify our plans for Vegas and getting some more ideas for the squadron. I hope to meet more of you next time we hook up, but it is looking like it won't be until after Vegas unless you are all up to it.

chuckle, well i was the one on the far left, the one with my name is actually Dustin, the guy on the far right is Jeremy, the others were Savier and Ed (he had the only honda) we will fix him sooner or later !

We all had a good time up there, it was Dustin's first real ride so he was pretty jazzed about hitting the hill. After we split up we headed south to oceanside and had some lunch at Fridays then a few of us hit the PCH south home and the other two took the 5 home, it turned out to be a great day and the pch was sweet.
Cant wait for Vegas, i got the boss's approval last night so i am in for sure now (baring an act of god)

Looks like you all had some fun. I'm still bummed I didn't get to go. However, I wish I would have known you guys were going to be at that 76 station at the end of Ortega Hwy...could have taken me about 5-10 min to shoot on down there just to meet you guys! Hehehe...

However, as far as I can tell so far I'm in and going to Vegas, so hopefully I'll meet you guys for that. Please don't forget to include me in the "driving up" plans for Vegas. :)

I had a really good time on Sunday and got to meet few of the members here. Unfortunately my back pain got the best of me and I had to break off from the other once we got back in my neck of the woods. Hopefully it will be better for the next ride. All in all, it was a good ride. Once we get closer to the convention date we will talk about the meeting time and all but from what it looks like right now, we are planning on meeting around 2 o’clock on June 13 which is a Friday where 138 and 15 meets. So have that in mind.

That's the only bad thing about going on a Friday. However, I do want to truck up behind you guys as a group, so that's why I'm going to wait till Fri to go with you all.
