I guess from the last post this might be a good subject.
Being in the UK I have not got to go to Keith Codes school in Cal' however, there is a version of it here now..
I have been to the Ducati Race school at Cadwell Park ciruit. They supply the bikes there to. It was quite good but the Duc's are too small for me, lots of ground clearance though.
Second, The Ron Haslam Race School, at Donnington Park. Again this was their bikes and honda cbr 600's. I enjoyed this 'cos I like the track but the standard CBR ain't got no ground clearance, dragging parts everywhere!!
Next is the European Superbike School. At this you use your own bike and is run by Frankie Chili the WSB rider. This is much better as you do not have to learn the bike first!
Where you guys been or going and what did ya think??

This is the key I think, don't want all the classroom stuff, just want to get out there for quality track time!

I'm scheduled to attend Code's school in Willow Springs, CA in June and September, but also, Yamaha is providing a free track day for buying an R1. Between the 3 days, I should be a track-happy fool...:jump

I put my deposit down before MSRP was even released. Is the free track day a CA thing? I'm paying good ol' hard earned cash for my track time. Some guys out here are even paying upwards of $1000 premiums over MSRP. I hate the Boston bike market.

Hey Link80Reid,
It all depends on your local market. Last year, the '01s around here (Boston) were mostly going for $10,500. There were some places offering list (10,300), but you would be wait listed. I bought my '01 in rural New Hampshire to get a deal (9,800!!). I even heard of the ridiculous price of $11,500 - but that's just stupid!
I paid list for mine this year and I'm sure people around here got 'em for lower, but I just wanted to be sure I'd get it early in the season. And I put the deposit down before list was announced (early September of last year).
SO ... 10,500 isn't a deal, but depending on your area, it's probably not a huge rip-off.
It all depends on how long you want to shop around and if you want the bike during the primest season or if you want to wait till close to the end of the season. Just make sure they don't stick you with :bs freight/set-up fees :fact
PS - One more thing. If anyone is in the area and looking, I know of 2 new Blues that are going for list ... maybe just a tad (100 bucks?) lower. Not worth the savings to have 'em shipped, though.

The California Superbike School have schools worldwide and not just in California. I went to level 1 & 2 in 1998 at Brands Hatch. They also did Cadwell Park and Lyddon in those days. This year they are only advertising dates at Rockingham. For more info go to www.superbikeschool.co.uk
Keith does teach at some of the UK school dates. :thumbup
I tried the Ron Haslam Race School at Donnington in 1996. Took a while to get used to the CBR600 using their kit. Personally I learned a lot more at California Superbike School.
