I got my one and My one has got 1800 miles on my bike. The porblem is I's got string sticking out of my tire. Well its not sticking out but it is imbeded. It's be the string used to make the tire hows that.:fact But WTF I only have 1800miles. I checked the preshure and it's fine I don't know whats up. I didn't do burnouts I mabe locked the back tire up without knowing it but thats about it. post our opinion. tell me wheather I should get some other tire or if it was a bad tire. Dam Dunlop:mad:

If it is coming out of the tyre, I'd say it was faulty. I got about 2500 miles out of my (original) set.

I have threads showing through in my grooves on the right hand side of my rear tire, but not on the center of it, it's got about 4000 miles on it. I think the stock 208s are just shitty tires. I'm putting some M-1s on it today or tomorrow. Just waiting for my buddy to be able to help me out.

I talked to a guy from my dealer and he said that it was most likley cuz of how it is such a soft compound tire and it would do that if you accel and brake hard. he said he hasn't seen a one get over 2800 miles on a tire. he also said that i would need a tire w/ such a soft compound or it wouldn't hold the ground. well i know a harder wouldn't hold as well but it would last longer.

I'm nearing 5000 miles on my stock tires and they still look pretty darn good to me !! I bought another members stock tires with just over 500 miles on them. When my original stock tires wear out, I'll put more stock tires on! :thumbup P.S. I wheelie on mine too, no burn outs and don't knee drag..... yet. ;)

I have about 2500 miles on my stock tires, and they still have lots of tread on them (they almost look new). No wheelies, no burnouts, no knee dragging.

I spend more money on tires than on all the mods combined, I am about maxed out on what to do to the bike (with out going inside the engine). My next tire will be off of a Gold Wing:)

I just rode my stock 208's (with about 3100 miles) in the pouring rain today. No problems at all. Unfortunately, a buddy of mine in his Corvette C5 was on the same road, about a mile behind me, and spun out, hitting the guard rail. And he was doing 40 (while I was doing 70). I guess the 208's can't be *that* bad?

How do these 208's compare to the 207's? I had the 207's on my 900rr and these 208's on my R1, I don't like the 208's as much, but it might be becasue they saw the track before I got the bike. Will that impact the grip? 207's are a decent price for a set, so I was going to go back to them. I'm a pussy rider, so I don't need the best tire. Price and longevity are my primary conserns. Thanks, John
