How to support rear of bike?

Normally, I'd just use my swingarm stand, but this time I need the swingarm to hang freely... I bought a lowering link for my '02 R1, and I need to remove the stock one to install it. But to do that, supporting the rear of the bike by the swingarm probably isn't a good idea (probably won't work at all, I'd guess). Anybody have any suggestions on how to do this, or am I going to have to take the bike to a shop? Thanks!

take off your rear seat and tie rope on the sub frame and hang from your garage rafters.

you can put a scissor jack under each of the front footpeg mounts (not the footpegs themselves as they obviously fold up) and gradually lift each at a similar rate. Took my rear shoick out doing this & it worked fine (suggest chocking front wheel or having in a front stand)

Find a tree limb or have a friend hold it. I put the link in about 10 minutes or less using power tools off and hand back on. Be careful with the bushings

Cool, thanks guys :) I'm going to wait until next week to receive my Corbin and see if that drops me just enough. If not, I'll try one of these ideas. Or when I get adventurous enough to ride the 300 miles to visit my mom, I can use her garage :) Thanks again! (Why is it that all of my local friends have garages with concealed rafters?)
