Last weekend Team Orient Express/Yamaha factory rider Eddie Krawiec gave Yamaha it's first 600 Supersport win in Drag Racing at the AMA Prostar Nationals in Virgina Motorsports Park. Eddie currently leads the ultra competitive 600 Super Sport class in points for the year as well. Eddie's 2003 R6 was running high 9's-very low 10's all weekend in the 137mph range. Eddie's sponsors include Yamaha, Orient Express, TiForce, Bates Leathers, Arai, World Wide Bearings,NuTech Fuels, Yamalube and Dynojet. http://www.rswarrior.com/members/Rob%20Hughes/Eddie600front.jpg Eddie "schooling" a Kawi off the line. http://www.rswarrior.com/members/Rob%20Hughes/KrawiecAtl600.JPG Here's a link to a video of one of Eddie's runs. www.rswarrior.com/files/OrientExpress/200305_R6.mpg It should be noted that this is the first time a Kawi hasn't won a Super Sport ProStar national event in more than 3 years! Eddie also was runner up racing his 160+hp 160+ ft/lb Warrior this weekend also. Talk about bad ass bike! http://www.rswarrior.com/members/Rob%20Hughes/KrawiecAtlanta.jpg Rob Hughes Orient Express Racing Rob@OrientExpress.com 1-800-645-6521

My brother races for Kawasaki in the same class as Eddie and my brother has had his hands full with him. Eddie is 2nd in points and my brother is in 3rd. Yamaha & Orient Express has got that R6 running great! ( My brothers name is Chad Millholland, keep your eyes open for him!)

Cool...I just checked the points out...Eddie is #1, Chip Hunter is #2 and Chad is #3. The real amazing thing is simply that it's not only a Yamaha winning but also a Fuel Injected bike...goes way against the grain of the Kawi guys riding the old carb bikes. Chip has a new bike but hasn't figured out how to make it go better than the old ones. Time will tell, we've only had the R6 since the first week in Jan. and there wasn't even a weekend the we got to get it out on the track before G'ville because the winter in the North East was so harsh this year...give Eddie the summer to ride the snot out of it and he seems to think it's got a record in it.

OrientExpressRH, Do you work at Orient Express? I've been considering having some work done on my bike down there. But I'm a bit gunshy after my last project, big boring my old yzf1000 to a 1070, went bad. How much power are you getting out of that R6 with the mods you mentioned? Thanks.

YZ...Yea I work for Orient Express, but I work out of my home now. I used to work in the office, but now I mostly do marketing and promotion stuff....the 70 mile each way commute killed me. We'd love to work on your bike, don't forget we've been doing this stuff for 30 years now, as long as your bike comes in in good shape it'll leave in one piece, with some nice dyno sheets taped to the wind screen. I'm not really at liberty to discuss the hp we're getting out of the R6, but I will say that it's making about the same hp as the carb'd Kawis were last year and it still has a few more ponies hidden away in the motor. Don't forget that the carb'd ZX6r's are pretty much maxxed out with every trick in the book thrown at them at this point (heck they've got more than 3 years R&D in them)......we've only had the R6 since the first week in Jan.
