R1@150@alltimes 05-19-2003, 09:40 AM I ordered some goodies from Greg over @ www.HPEonline.com last week. Greg was very helpful in answering all my questions and was very prompt to reply to my emails. Here is a list of what I ordered:
ARATA full sys
BMC race air filter
Graves AIS plugs
ZGDB smoke screen
Everything was shipped together and was nicely packaged.:thumbup
My first impression of the Arata was:eek: , this thing is light!!! I put the headers together and then compared the weight of the original headers and it was like night & day people. The finish on this pipe is awesome. Right up there with the big boys, namely Graves and Akra. The installation was easy and the hardest part was tightening the 8 header bolts. After replacing a motor and polishing a frame/swingarm, well I was tired of disassembling so I left the radiator on. Be careful when ur attaching the exhaust springs. They can take ur eye out!!! The sound of the Arata is like no other I have heard. It is very deep, throaty, raspy, almost growls at you like it means bizness. The power increase is amazing. My R1 had a MIG slip b4 and would not power wheelie in 2nd gear. Well now I have trouble keeping the front wheel planted. Especially in 2nd gear @8K. It just comes up smooth as silk. No more clutch ups 4 me:rock The bike honestly feels like it is breathing alot more now. I installed an Ivans Jet Kit a few months back thanks 2 Nub's instructions, and I was worried that the Arata's 4-2-1 design was goin to conflict with my jet kit. Ivan only recommends a 4-1 system like Akra or Muzzy ro stock headers and a slip. Well the good news is the Arata collector pipe is a very short 4-2-1 sysytem and it really is more of a 4-1 system. I have no probs below 4K but I did lose a little umph there which was expected. Nuttun a dual flo-commander system can't tune out:sneaky I also did Ivans airbox mod and dropped in a BMC race air filter. I am using the stock 130 mains and just Ivans needles. Bike is so much more powerful now, it's actually scary. If any one has any questions or problems, shoot me out an email.... ruben@ziraatnewyork.com
FYI, this isnt a street fighter R1, just waitin 4 my plastics from the painter:boobies
Here is where U an get ur ARATA exhaust WWW.HPEONLINE.com

He threw that tire on 4 me so I could ride 4 the day...then my motor got hungry and ate 2 rod bearing:lol.....but I have a new H2 ready 2 go, just waitin 4 my plastics.......:)
Thanks 4 the comps guys!!!:hellobye
Very schweet! Now we need to see what it looks when you get the fairings. I'm thinking full system also full system but wait and see what the cash flow is like.
Very nice Ruben. U are right man, the Arata looks an sounds awesome! Maybe I'll get rid of the hindle carbon fiber and get a full system now.:D
stro3579 05-28-2003, 04:08 PM Ruben, Does the Arata put out more hp than a Yoshi? If so do you think it is a noticable difference? What about the hindle Full race exhuast does the Arata put out more horses than the hindle?
Is the displacement bigger on the Arata than the yosh and hindle?
02R1guy 05-28-2003, 04:16 PM I think the 4-1 Yosh ( Japan) system is up there with the top hp guys.

Honestly Stro, I don't know for sure. But what I can tell you is that the power gained on an ARATA full titanium system is outstanding. I had a MIG slip before and as soon as I took my baby out for a quick spin with the new full system, I knew I was in for it.:sneaky
What really seperates the ARATA from any other full system is number 1, the high exit look. Number 2, the sound ARATA SOUND CLIP (http://www.cardboardkinky.net/bike/r1exhausts/arata.wav) , and number 3 the quality is right on.
And also you dont see alot of them around. Everyone and their grandmother has an AKRA, GRAVES...etc (not crackin on you guys). I was looking for something unique. I dont really know too much about Hindle, but they are nice.
Here is a dyno chart of a 2001 ARATA full system(stock jet kit/airbox/filter)

stro3579 05-28-2003, 05:37 PM What the hell was that sound clip thing? It didnt open up anything. Send me a sound clip!!
