MyRedR1 05-19-2003, 10:46 PM It is tire time again and I have heard rumors that the new Pirelli Diablo is a kick ass street tire. Has anyone actually tried these tires yet ??
I have been runing Pilot Sports for the last 2 sets of tires after I peeled off the Dunlop 207's. I like the Pilots but feel the need for a change. The pilots seem to get unstable at high speed and tend to lose their "feel" once they hit the 50 % wear mark....
Rafael 05-22-2003, 09:30 AM Well i have had them for about 2months and just under a 1,000 miles on them. I can tell you they heat up quick and handle nice on the street, high speed and turns:)). They are very simalar to the sportec's. I would recommend them.
vcyclenut 06-18-2003, 07:21 PM please let us know what kind of milage you get out of them and what you got with your stock tires
R1Jim 06-19-2003, 03:17 AM diabalo corsa just got rave reviews in the UK, using BT012ss myself (bridgestone man myself)
RacinJason 06-19-2003, 03:34 AM I will be testing them this week I will try to get back to you on that . I have not heard one thing bad about them .
I have the Diablo Corsa they are 70% track tires.
A little softer tire than the normal diablo from what I hear .
They have two rubber compounds they are a little harder in the middle from what I can feel .
biffa 07-04-2003, 02:57 AM Motorcycle news in the UK did a big sport tyre test recently, and the Diablo came out as top street tyre with the corsa version coming out as top street/trackday tyre.
Turbo-rotor 07-08-2003, 08:24 PM Well I use BT012ss and they are damn sweet tyres. Plenty of grip cold and even better hot (obviously). Trackd ays they are frickin nice. I can power slide them nicely and controllably. Top end speed they still feel nice and after 2 full track days look WAY better than my bros r6 who uses dunlop 07's.
Birdgestones are very nice. I will not try anything else for some time. :)
windchaser 07-08-2003, 10:59 PM I will be testing the Diablo Corsa at the Track at the end of the month I will let you guys know how it go.
BRBJackson 07-16-2003, 12:37 PM The Diablos have made me a Pirelli man all the way. Have 'em on my street rims, and Supercorsa Race SC2's on the track rims. Used M1's before and loved 'em. I just like the Pirelli's a little bit more. I know they're supposed to be the same tire with diff. tread, but I honestly think the DIablos are even stickier and more stable.
nuihc01 07-18-2003, 03:03 PM Put on a set of Super Corsa's on stock rims a couple of weeks back as I'm planning to do some track time with em'. This was a switch from the stock dunlop's. I fitted a 180-55 at the rear and it's noticeable when leanin' over. That could be because the 190's were pretty squared off with over 4700 miles em' but even when the dunslops were new, I like these alot better. I'll send some more feedback once I hit the track.
vcyclenut 07-18-2003, 05:39 PM 4700 miles?!! , i had cords showing on my back dunlop after 2300 miles, i wasnt expecting great tire life but i thought that was kind of extreme what has everyone else got for tire life on there 208's??
Tweak 07-18-2003, 08:46 PM I got about 3000 out of my 208 rear, about 5300 out of the front. I just put a new set of diablos on tonight. went w/ a 180 rear, bike feels and handles more like a 600 now. These things rock from the few miles I rode on them tonight. Im gonna go break them in Sunday and see how they really work in the corners. so far, they :rock
bigkvn1 07-18-2003, 08:55 PM Damn, my tires are shot at 1800 - 2000. However, it's hot as hell were I live. Theres no was to get even close to 3000 out of em
evilR1 07-19-2003, 12:56 AM i just got a set- less than 50 miles
and even during scrub in i am impressed

They have two rubber compounds they are a little harder in the middle from what I can feel . So does this mean that they would be okay for a curvy mtn . trip in between track days ? Would they wear out to quick ? I have a pair of the Diablo SuperCorsa's , went to VIR south course and they rocked ! The 180 on the rear makes it lean much quicker , I never slid one time that day , of course am kinda slow !:lol
