what gear and speed for qtr mile runs

hi i've never done qtr mile drags before.. what gear/rpm and speed do you do? which gear would you be in when youcrosss the line?? somthing like this?? 1st gear when to change? around 100kmph/near readline 2nd gear when to change? around 150 near redline 3rd gear when to change around 200 near readline 4th gear end qtr mile i assume?? 200+

man, i bring the revs up to about 6000 (on an r6 though, whatever feels comfortable on the r1) and drop the clutch (but in a controlled manner; feathering of the clutch is required of course) and rev the bike through the gears till just before the redline. you won't be paying attention to the speedo, trust me :) all you'll be checking is the revs...
