TROUBLESHOOTING CODES

Does anyone know what the codes mean when they register on the computer on the 2002 R1's? I'm getting code 11 when the engine light comes on.

i got the code 11 and the told me it had something to with the cylinder, then the noticed i changed my marker lights and they told me the running lights being unhooked was causing my computer to flash false codes, so they wouldnt loo kat it till i went back stock i also lost my headlight on the way home one night, so take it to ths shop!:machinegu :iamwithst

I get flashing 11 code message every time I wash my bike--no matter how careful I am about keeping minimal water on clocks and around seat. This is also accompanied by the headlight switching off when bike is put in gear and clutch let out although the bike will still run. I think it is some sort of safety feature. I have taken off the seat and let the engine run and get hot--after 1/2 hr or so--the error message goes away and the bike runs fine. I also hear the starter relay under the seat kind of clicking on and off--you know, a fast kind of electrical crackle--although there will be no visible water under the seat and around the computer.....:confused: .......confusing it is. Water is obviously getting in somwhere. Any ideas would be appreciated. A shop manual for the 2002 would help.:thumbup

Dude, thanks for answering my reply yamaha place tells me its because i left the running light wire unplugged on my new blinker lights, but the problem occured after washing my bike same exact thing now i can tell them you had the same trouble, please report it to your dealer so yamaha tech can look into it, your a life saver! now i can put my eliminator kit and lights back on.:rock :) :boobies

wash my bike yesterday, my running lights are not plug in, and just installed full akro race system. The exhaust sounds great and looks awesome, but the engine light is on the that damn malfuction code 17:mad: :machinegu :finger is on. Any ideas some? Help if you can. Please don't wait in line. He!he!he!

o! Ya! Took the servo motor out. that might be it. HMMMMMMMMM? Hope i didn't F_ck anything up. damn!

dude, is this the first time it's done that? if so tell the dealer so yamaha tech line will look into this, i hooked my factory stuff up and have washed it with no trouble,did the guy above have factory lights hooked up when he has this trouble, answer back so we can try to get this crap fixed.:jump :machinegu :bs :rock :mad:

I have Code 11. My bike will not start! The Engine check light is on and when you press the start button the fuel pump comes on!
