Hey guys, I have to admit that I really like this bike. It's real sporty and just easy and comfortable to ride. I picked up a used 2000 Red SV and I put a Yosh slip on and my buddy tuned the engine a little for me (shims, needles, and a/f screws) so now she runs real nice and the pipe makes her nice and loud. I would definitely suggest giving this bike a try, if u got some extra cash and would like something different to ride. Now I love the R1 a lot, but this bike is pretty good too.

I am planning on some track days, but the R1 is my first choice. I think to race the SV they require some modifications (like new forks, better tires, some bodywork, etc...) and right now honestly, I just don't have the cash. But the R1 is all track ready!:rock I'm looking into some track days in the fall probably.

Yea rode that (Eman) sv650 today and man, lemme tell yea...that v-twin Torque is UNMATCHABLE!! So much fun to ride, and very fast all around..doesnt look like it would be, but it really is..And the comfort was unreal...very easy and very FUN ride.... Not really a sport looking bike, but I dont think you will mind if ya take one for a spin....same power feel, with the easy ride too!! get one and try it if you can, even us R1 guys will be impressed!

I heard those SVs are sweet, has anyone rode a 1000? I wonder if the extra power is worth the extra weight. Some magazines said to stick with the 650 to save weight and mileage per gallon and the 650 is supposed to be more fun. Cant beat the cost too.
